Hi I am taking 10mg Amitriptaline and 200mg of magnesium to try and help with my sleep but I am still struggling most nights I get 3/4 hours which is affecting me during in the day. Can anyone recommend an over the counter tablet to help but not an antistamine they don't agree with me

Have you tried melatonin, start low build up. I can recommend a book that helped me but you might need to read a couple times. Lots to learn. The Sleep Book by Dr. Guy Meadows founder of the Sleep School.

If the amitriptyline isn't really helping you may want to try something else. It can also increase any restless leg symptoms if that's an issue. Trazadone is one that helps many people get some sleep. Low dose Seroquel can also be effective. You may have tried these already.Sleep deprivation is no joke. I understand what you are feeling.
