Hello

Not sure if I am in the right group.

I have been taking amriptyline for nerve pain for the past two months but have been unable to sleep properly, (not because of the nerve pain).

I understand that amriptyline typically makes people sleep better but I seem to have the opposite effect.

Does anyone have any experience of this?

Thanks

yes, amatryptyline is used as a sleep aid but in a very low dose. I was given amatrypteline to help me get to sleep, but without that vital piece of information. It didn’t work for me until I read about the low dose. I then started taking half a tablet and most nights it does work.
