So for OTC products, I use OLLY brand Extra strength sleep. It has melatonin, l-theanine and other botanicals. So this is truly a fully natural solution. L-theanine has worked stand alone for me as well. In addition, I added some HEMP extract gummies from amazon which really helped both myself and my husband's sleep. Here is a link to a child specific natural medication. We use this with our oldest who also tends to not sleep well but does still function. It has helped her....and the doctor said it was ok to use a few times a week. It's called Genexa and there is no melatonin. For me Benadryl and melatonin standalone give me that hangover effect.
This sounds very similar to my story and it's gone on for years. Eventually it does take its toll. I've been through 20 doctors I think in the end and none of them knew what it was. There was a number of things though. I had iron deficiencies which weren't within the parameters for the NHS but still caused problems. It does require regular testing though. I had blood sugar problems. I had menopause which won't apply to her. In the end they discovered I also had a breathing disorder which was instead of waking me up or making me feel I'd woken up or being horrible in the morning I was actually not registering that I had been asleep so I was having micro sleeps. In the end I still suffer with that even these many years on despite short term fixes over the years. I take 3.75 of zopiclone per night which takes the edge off a bit but anything minor can trigger it off again. I have to watch what I eat and I find that not sleeping on my back helps a great deal. I hope some of that might help in the journey but it really has been almost 15 years for me. I wasn't able to tolerate the CPAP.
I have your problem - or at least fully understand it.
I have been on Zopiclone for almost 10 years - yes, no typing error.
I can remember the dayIlost my sleep, which always had been fragile. My gaslighting ex got Parkinson’s and this led to even more misogynistic behaviour and just made life unliveable. On realisation of this I felt confusion just standing there with him (arguing); then I felt two taps actually inside my head at temple level. I know the date this happened and it has led to me not sleeping ever since that day in 2013.
I had tried CPAP years before and I couldn’t stomach it either. I honestly think doctors have no inkling of how constant sleep deprivation can make you question if you should still be here.
I also had a total hysterectomy at the age of 42 and I’m sure may be linked somewhere?
When youcan’tsleepthere is no-where to put your arms. I suffer dreadfully with arm pain now.
Certain past traumas can affect the health of the nervous system which is essentially the vagus nerve. There are things like EDMR which can really make a difference and I'm looking into at the moment but so far I'm quite impressed with it. Especially the things that you and I both have are all connected by the vagus nerve and it's worth looking into yourself and seeing how the anatomy works and seeing if you can relate to any of the things wrong with your health that could connect back to that. There was another good book I read by a guy that had healed a chap from autism by using vagus nerve stimulation therapies or therapies rather than stimulation. It's a guy called Stanley Rosenberg who wrote a book called accessing the Power of the Vagus nerve. I think there might be other things as well but I think it's a bit of trial and error although I didn't find vagus nerve stimulation using an electrical device helpful at all quite the contrary so I think it's worth looking at healing mechanisms instead very interesting. I did study quite a bit into anatomy over the years and this is the bit that I'm most interested in. I do hope it helps cuz I know the misery of it. I also found a chiropractor extremely helpful with the pain type of thing in your arm you're talking about because it can be trapped nerves as well and bad posture and believe me I cannot underestimate to you the power of having chiropractor input.
Like I said my story is similar sometimes I don't get to sleep till 7:00 a.m. and sleep till about 11ish. But I've only ever once got up at 5:00 a.m. to try and enjoy the morning but I felt wrecked and the longest I've gone is a month without sleep altogether night and day.
Her mental health is fine , she is anxious at times but that’s like phoning places she use to b anxious at school in the classroom like people r looking at her and sometimes she had to take 5 but she doesn’t go out much her choice ,
It still might be working worth talking to a psychotherapist because that's the number one thing they look at before the physical end of non-sleep. I've suffered with it for a 15 years and I know I've been through it all practically.
