seeking recommendations on CPAP machine temperature/humidity settings

I am still trying to get used to my CPAP machine (AirSense 11 by Reliable Respiratory). The Auto settings don't work for me. The air is too dry and I can't sleep for more than about 45 min. The temperature in the room is usually 62-64F (16-18C deg) and the humidity is about 60%-70%. How humid should the air in the tube be? How safe is it to make it more humid? Is it more likely to get a lung infection with a more humid air? Has anybody experienced lung infection like the ones that caused a recent Philips CPAP machines recall? What tube temperatures do people use?
