I have had insomnia for most of my 78 years simply because I was always a very high energy type of individual. After I retired I found that I needed more quality sleep and let doctors talk me into taking anti depressants which have a sedating effect. It was the biggest mistake ever as I developed several heart diseases as well as kidney and other organ failures. Please, if you value life, DO NOT take anti depressants for insomnia. Check out short and long term side effects of any medication.
