Lack of sleep.: I'm going off walking soon... - Sleep Matters
Lack of sleep.
good morning ,firstly let me just say i hope you enjoy your walk , secondly snap , i think i’ve had a handful of decent nights sleep in 18months , ive never been a great sleeper ,,,and have only nodded off in an afternoon if been quite poorly , ,,, getting off to sleep is my problem especially the last 18 months or so , in the end i have tried 2 different prescribed anxiety/depression tablets ,,,,that haven’t helped,,, also diazepam which i have now resorted to take on the odd night to get some sleep , it has recently been found that my under active thyroid medication needed adjusting,,,, which was ok ,,,until i realised the dose had become too much and i have reverted back to the original dose,,,, None of this is offering you any help or advise ,,, other than speak to your GP and maybe ask for blood tests , best wishes and hope you enjoy your walk , apologies for me being unable to help,
but i’m sure others on here will help you . ,
It's an under-recognised problem which impacts badly on quality of life and your health. Suggest seeking a sleep study from your GP from a spacialist. I have experienced this for most of my long life; stress is my main trigger but it goes deeper than that. Our brain wiring is deficient, I am sure. I do know that I improve as the day goes on, and try not to let tiredness dominate my life or spoil it.
