I have dry everything including eyes. My optician recommended taking O-3 supplements. But not sure how much Epa/dha is beneficial. Bought some capsules which gave me upset stomach. Cut one open and it was rancid despite sell by date of 2021. Anyone had any experience that could advise me?

Omega 3 for blepharitis?
Hi there , my optican had recommended Eye Nutrients- dry omega capsules which contain omega 3&7 and vitD3 . I didn’t buy them as they were quite expensive . I hope this is of help 🌸
Hi I’m the same as you,dry everything! I take 1tbs of flaxseed oil daily ,buy it from a health food shop ,the brand is Melrose and then keep in fridge. Also take 1tsp of COD liver oil. Both very good .
Also Ophthalmologist recommended Omega 3s. I was already taking an AREDS2 supplement which now comes as a multi-vitamin in US. (Be careful not to double up on other individual supplements if you start this.) Started taking the Fish Oil in addition (one that's been purified so doesn't give me fish burps). I feel that it took me a good 2-3 years back with regard to my dry eyes. Eye Dr. also confirms improved eye moisture. Rarely use eye drops now unless get into bad air situations. Use a little more now that its winter. But also use a diffuser at night with some essential oils in it for helping to keep sinuses open. I can breath better so don't breath through my mouth as much. So that helps with dry mouth too. Note: Whenever the AREDS go on sale 2 for 1, I buy some.
I've had good results re: dry eyes with taking Omega 3. I bought a good quality fish oil that is purified to avoid fish burps and take the recommended dose. It contains a middling amount of 1,100 mg of Omega 3 and 300 mg of Omega 6. Though I have some general digestive issues the addition of the fish oil did not upset my stomach. I also takes AReds 2 vitamins as I have macular degeneration in my family.
