I am 5 1/2 years in remission for twice recurrent endometrial cancer. Currently, I am taking Ibrance and anastrazole, a MBC regimen because my cancer is more like mbc. Most of the research is on breast cancer, and now ovarian cancer. The medications and protocols trickle down to endometrial/uterine cancer about 3 to 5 yrs later (according to my dr). My dr was one of the clinicians for the clinical trials of Ibrance when he was a breast cancer dr ( he switched Gyn cancers when came to the place where I get my care). So I was one of the very few endometrial cancer patients to receive it in the USA. Now, I think there are more like me, but in all the forums and chats, I have never met them.
I joined this site to learn and see what treatments people are getting for ovarian cancer, and to stay on top of the newest treatments for hormone receptor positive cancers.
I am a retired elementary school teacher who swims three to five times a week with two masters teams and practices synchronized (artistic) swimming with a masters team one time a week. I have a busy life ( love hanging out with the grandkids).

hello Merma, you amaze me with the wonderful positive things you are doing with your life. I live in US and was 5 years in remission with 4 reoccurring cancer in past breast, ovarian, liver, spleen. I just had my 5th bout with cancer tumors in bladder. I have the Brac mutated gene and am taking the maintenance pill Rubraca. God Bless you and praying your journey in this crazy world of cancer keeps you well, hugs to you and again you amaze me ❤️🦋
Thank you, Tabor. 5 years in remission after all those recurrences - hurray for maintenance meds and hurray for you! I’m a in-the-moment kind of gal now, so I hope you have many many moments of lovely experiences that bring you great joy.❤️🧜♀️
I'm currently on Lynparza which is the trending maintenance treatment for BRCA positive patients. I'm a little confused about your case. Ibrance is for HER2- and HR+ but you mention having endometrial cancer. My understanding is that most Ovarian cancers begin in the endometrium, which is also my case. How long have you been on Ibrance?
I’ve been on Ibrance for about 5 ½ years. I’ve been anastrozole for six years. I have twice recurrent endometrial cancer that has been in remission since the brachytherapy 5 ½ years ago. The mutations are in Pten. Pik3ca, spop, and cn1. Although my mother had the BRCA1 and atm mutations, I do not. The Ibrance is being used “off label” because this cancer is similar to metastatic breast cancer. Ibrance is not as widely used for endometrial cancer patients. I have not met any endometrial patients in the same boat. It seems like it is being used more with ovarian patients as well.
hi, Merma. Your experience is very uplifting! I am HRD positive, Stage 3c ovarian cancer. I started Zejula about six weeks post-chemo. That was about 15 months ago. I’m in remission. I’ve wondered about other regimens besides Zejula. My doctors, whom I trust, believe this is the best course right now. I also am interested in regimens and drugs other women are using.
