Doxil?

I am wondering how long people can stay on Doxil. I have been receiving Doxil 1 x a month for over a year, and have been told there is a limit- but do not know what that limit might be. My Doctor just says why change what is working, or, you have a long way to go before you reach the limit, but nothing definitive. Anyone else on Doxil doing well so far?

hi, Peacenow- I noticed your question about Doxil because that was part of my chemo. I wasn’t aware it could be used long term, so I can’t answer your question, I’m sorry. I had a fairly easy time with it during chemo.

I was switched to a parp inhibitor after that. I hope you continue to do well.

I don’t know the answer but thought the limit was lower than twelve. It can damage your heart. You probably had an echocardiogram at the beginning but maybe should be checked periodically? Or get a second opinion?

Thank you Lily2023 and Delia2. I do go for Echocardiograms every 3-4 months. My Doc says "why change what is working", and that I have "a long way to go" before I reach the so called limit. I do plan on seeing Dr. Gershensen soon to get his opinion on what might be next. I am being seen at Johns Hopkins, which I pretty much trust to be making the right calls.
