Been on niraparib 300mg for three weeks but told to stop due to low platelets, will have blood test in a week. Anyone had similar experience who went on to reduced dose that worked.

I have been taking 200 mg daily now for 2 years.... so far, I have had good blood test results. I have read that many women who take 300 Mg have problems and their doctor reduces the amount.Try taking 200 mg a day.
Yes, this happened to me too. My platelets dropped alarmingly and I had to have three IV platelets infusions. I had no symptoms at all. My doctor gave me a 2 week break and then she started me on 100mg. Everything is fine now and she will gradually increase the dose in January. Good luck - you will be fine!
Hi I was on 200mg Niraparib for four months but had to stop due to severe anemia. Had 5 transfusions in seven weeks. Am off it 7 weeks now but restarting on Monday at 100mg. Really hoping that I can tolerate it and that it works.
I hope that you get on well at the 200mg dose.

Hi, I started on 200 mgs., but was reduced to 100 mgs. This dose is much better for me, but I still had a few blood counts that made me take a weekly break once in awhile. I seem to be doing ok lately. Donna
Thank you to everyone that replied, obviously it takes time to find correct dose, all we want is to be able to continue without too many side effects.
I have seen many posts about women having problems when taking 300mg. I started out with 200 mg daily and it has been almost 1- 1/2 years now and I have had good lab results, no serious side effects. Platelets are low at times but nothing to worry about. Everyone experiences differntly. Try 200 mg daily
Started on 300 mg counts went down. Put on 200mg and worked for a few months and suddenly counts went down. Off for two months and now have been on 100 mg for about a month and so far ok.
