I hadn’t read this in awhile. Just living my life after cancer. Now it’s back.😬😬 I’m starting carboplatin and doxol. Any advice? My doctor says I wont lose my hair so I’m glad about that. What side effects should prepare for.Next step of the journey begins Monday.

I just finished my second battle with OC, didn't lose my hair but was really tired all the time. Had a little nausea but nothing meds couldn't control. How many rounds of chemo, do you know?

I remember being really pissed off, hell I'm still pissed off 🙂. Do you have to have surgery?

6 rounds every 4 weeks. How are you now? Did you take Doxil?

I had surgery then 6 rounds of carboplatin/gemcitabine every 21 days.

I did not lose my hair. I then started on Avastin every 21 days, but recently learned my CA 125 numbers are going up again. So much for avastin working???🥴. I have another blood test this coming Thursday, hopefully my numbers haven't changed again.

It hasn't even been a year. Pissy disease. Good luck with chemo. Try to stay healthy.

Avastin didn’t work for me either. Stay strong. We can do this.

Thank you, I'm scared, mostly for my family. Oddly enough, I don't think they could handle it. Do you or anyone feel you have to be strong for others when it's hard enough just keeping it together?

That's why I stay in contact with my oncology therapist. I can bear my soul.

I'm so tired of being sick.😞

Thanks everyone for being out there.

I’m in the same boat. Finished Carbo/Gemzar/Avastin (2nd round of chemo) and stayed on Avastin. Not working After 6 weeks , Ca 125 is rising and lymph node popped up again In my neck and have Left upper quadrant pain. What next? So discouraged 😞

So sorry to hear that it's back! Something we all fear. Carboplatin causes hair loss. I'm surprised your doctor told you it doesn't. I wish you all the best with your treatment. Keep up the battle! We are with you in spirit! Keep us posted.

I think she meant it’s not the total hair loss like before.

I am so sorry to hear it's back. Mine too. I am headed in for surgery next week. Carboplatin made my hair fall out the first time and it has a really bad metal taste. I rinsed my mouth 5 times a day with salt water and baking soda rinse for the entire time I was under chemo and two weeks after it ended. It kept that yucky metal taste out of my mouth. You put a 1/4 tsp salt and baking soda in about 8 oz of warm water. Rinse about 5 times a day. Everyday and even when you feel good in between chemo. I hope it works for you like it did for me. Did you have surgery? What chemo did you do the first time? I hope you feel loved and supported from everyone here. Let us know how you do. :)
