Question about OV 1a

Hello all,

I haven't posted for a while. It seems I've had a full time job dealing with health stuff after completing my last (6) round of chemo as well as emotional stuff.

My question is are there any ladies out there that were diagnosed with ov 1a and have remained ned or have had a recurrence?

Thanks for sharing and best wishes for you all!

Hi there,

You didn't mention in your post whether you have had symptoms that make you think that the cancer may be back. Try and enjoy your weekend without any worries, especially if there are no symptoms. If you have concerns, ignore them until Mon morning when you should ring for an appointment with the GP or a chat to your specialist nurse. But be kind to yourself today with a clear mind xx

Thank you very much for your response. My only concern is my ca125. Other than that, I usually try not to think about it. I'll see my Oncologist next week. Best Wishes.

I finished my 3rd and last treatment 3 months ago. my first 3 moth follow up is in two weeks so I can understand your anxiety. I’m just trying to stay positive and reminding myself that it could be worse. Be well

Hello and thank you for asking. So far so good. CA 125 is at 13. Cat scan scheduled for end of January and 6 month follow up a week later. How is everything going for you ?

Hi. I think this is something that we all fear. I have been in remission for a year, but the thought of recurrence is always in the back of my mind. Hang tough and know that you have friends here who understand. We all need the support of family and friends, but this community is really special because that truly can relate. Prayers and hugs are being sent your way!

Thank you for that. Did you have ov 1a? I'm learning to be more positive all the time. I don't want to live in fear. Yes, you are right about the ladies here. No one understands better than you all. Best wishes to you and thanks again!

Just saw your post; I was diagnosed 1b high grade serous in Jan 2018. Had hysterectomy, then 6 cycles carboplatin/taxol which finished in June 2018. Had my first post treatment appt several weeks ago, so far everything looks good and I feel so much better. Having hair and Hb above 10 helps! I understand what you mean about possible recurrence being in the back of your mind; I just try to keep focused on what I can do and enjoy right now while also making plans for the future. Things may not go according to plan, but isn’t that often the way? I know it sounds cliche, but all one can do is take it a day at a time. Big hugs and wishing you all the best, Christine x

Hello Mmont, I had responded to you a year ago as well. I also had OC 1a and Uterine Cancer as well. My Dr recommended surveillance only so I did not have Chemo. My surgery was pretty aggressive I had the full hysterectomy of course and they also removed my omentum and did a full lymph node dissection. My CA125 has been stable and I haven’t had a recurrence to date 😊. I’m with you it’s very stressful I’m always waiting for the other shoe to fall. I try to stay positive but I had some enlarged lymph nodes whiched caused a big worry and a cyst on my breast big worry, these are things that if I didn’t have the cancer history wouldn’t be a big concern. What grade was your cancer? And what type?

I was diagnosed with 1A high grade in October 2017. I completed six cycles of chemo on Feb 14, 2028.

Thanks for your responses and best wishes to you!
