Hello Everyone! I finished Carbo/Doxil with only a partial response; so now I am starting Zejula. Has anyone else had this happen? How long does the nausea last with Zejula? Thanks for any thoughts.

Zejula question
Zejula Did not work for me. So had to go on something else They can lower the strength if it’s making you too nauseated.
Aloha! On my third occurrence was given Zejula and Avastin. To my surprise, I had immediate response. Within 10 days, swollen lymph nodes became undetectable and I quit peeing blood. However, within 6 weeks, I had to have dosage reduced to 200mg because of low blood counts. Six weeks after that, I reduced to 100mg for the same reason. At my 4 month scan, my tumor showed a 40% reduction. Now at 100mg and disease is stable. At 300mg, the nausea and ucky taste lasted about 4-6 months. No issues besides low blood counts at 200mg and 100mg. wishing you the best!
Thank you for the response, it is good to know that it still works at 100 mg. I am four days in with taking it. Very hopeful that it stabilizes my cancer.
I also had low blood count on the hemoglobin and red cells. I had to have a blood transfusion, because I was short of breath, dizziness, tired, and a dry cough. I am off Zejula for a week now and will be waiting to see what the dr says next.
Hi , I have been on Zejula for over 2 years now. 300mg from the start. I have no nausea.
I take mine at bedtime seems to work for me. Ca125 has been up and down but that's normal for me. Small spot on lymphnode in liver is shrinking.Been battling since 2013 OV 3c
high grade serous.
Hope this helps.
Caroline
Thanks for the response it helps a lot. I have been on it now for five days and my nausea is almost gone. I hope I have your success with it. I am stage 3c high serous as well.
Very helpful, Caroline, thank you. I, too, have high grade serous and either Zejula or Olaparib could be my next line of treatment, pending genetic results for the tumours.
I am Braca neg. so that's why I'm on Zejula. It's been working so far not enough studys on this but we will see how longer it keeps working. Keep the faith.
It is also a bit confusing. Some patients, who are also BRCA negative have been put on Olaparib. Keeping the faith
My cell count went down on Zejula. Just came home from having a blood transfusion. They want me off at least for a week. I am also negative for that gene. My dr told me that Zejula works better when you have that gene. Don’t know what they want me to do next. I just keep the faith.
Was diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer in 2017. After three years of 6 months of chemo treatments and hysterectomy i tried zejula. It was way too strong at 200 mg then reduced to 100 which was still too much for me. It felt like daily chemo treatments. had to stop it completely. On Avastin now every three weeks i guess forever. So far not too bad. I have good days and bad days with pain, nausea and no energy at all. Scheduled for ctscan in two weeks. So we'll see if this is helping the cancer from growing or spreading which is now on my colon and intestines. Praying this Avastin will keep me going! Just want a little energy and more better days!!!
Hi there, I too was on Avastin for a year then it stopped working for me.Put me on chemo again then been on Zejula since. The only thing I didn't like about Avastin it gave me high blood pressure and kidney disease.Taking meds for blood pressure . If it's not one thing it's another but you just keep on fighting.Hope all goes well for you.
I've been on Zejula now for 2 years with great success. I had a 2nd recurrence that caused me to have same chemo as you. Did that for 5 months and then was put on Zejula. I will tell you, my life was hell the first 2 months. My nausea was worse on it than any nausea I had with infused chemo. But there is HOPE!!! I started on 100 mg for a week (no issues), then 200 mg for a week (no issues), then 300 mg and then it got bad. I was throwing up 6-7 times a weeks. Doc dropped me back to 200 mg but it made not difference. I read a post on this site that was my lifesaver. Another gal was alternating with 100 mg one day and then 200 mg the next. So I started doing the same. Within a week I was less nauseated and after about 2 weeks the nausea was gone. I've been on that dose for almost 2 years now with success. My oncologist had never tried that dosing but after I told him what I was doing, he started using that dosing for his other patients who were dealing with extreme nausea. At first I had a lot of side-effects but now I have none. You can read my post about side-effects: healthunlocked.com/share-ov...
Praise God I'm cancer free. CA125 has been 9 the past 3 blood tests!!!
Thank you for sharing, the information was very helpful
I was on the Zejula Two every day, my white cell count dropped very low and had extreme heart palpitations , dropped me down to one apparently it didn’t work my CA 125 is now 1000 will start chemotherapy again
I started Zejula 200 mgs daily for about two months. My red blood cells dropped and so did the white one. I was short of breath, dizzy, headaches. Just felt lousy. I had to have a blood transfusion today and they want me off Zejula for at least a week. Don’t know what’s next. I am BRCA negative, so it doesn’t work as well.
Thank you for your response, i wish you the best with the next part of your journey. Keep up the good fight.
I am late to this discussion. But found by using queasy drops my nausea abated . I ordered mine through Amazon. Best of luck. I am on my fifth week of the medication and my lab work has come back stable each time.
