2017- 55 with normal periods (heavy due to fibroid tumors), vaginal ultrasound showed ovarian cyst size 5. Had 2nd ultrasound a few mos later cyst grew to 7. OVA1 year was a 4. Cyst showed as benign on ultrasound
2018- cyst is now a 10 and OVA1 is a 7
Dr says may be elevated bc of fibroids but has scheduled a hysterectomy.
Can a benign cyst turn malignant?
How worried should I be bc I’m freaking out...

Have you had your surgery yet? Robotic or abdominal? I agree that you should have a gynecologist oncologist to refer to now and in the future. I had a robotic hysterectomy and 4 months later I had emergency surgery for 6 hours. My original diagnosis of endometrial cancer was now a form of ovarian cancer called primary peritoneal cancer. I am in remission now after chemo and radiation. I do know people who have robotic hysterectomies and have no further problems. I wish you the best. Be your own best advocate.
