Hello. I'm 20 years old and last summer a doctor found a cyst in my vagina but didn't say anything else. I totally put it to the back of my head but now I've been having achey full sometimes tingly pain in my pelvis area. I'm terrified in may be cancer?!

Here2helpxLx please follow up with your doctor about your symptoms. You might find it helpful to write out questions to ask your doctor before your appointment to make sure you get all the information you need during your appointment. The odds of it being cancer are probably low, but if it is cancer you are better off getting it diagnosed sooner rather than later. Please keep us posted.

Gosh there are lots of indicators that have to be seen first plus generally you won't be diagnosed until surgery (if you even need that) so it's too soon to be worried about cancer.

Go back to your doctor, ask for another review, is the cyst still there?. Discuss your symptoms and make sure you write them down so you have the details and also how long they've gone on for etc.

It really does no good to worry about something that you haven't been told you have so try to keep calm, there is more chance that it's just a harmless cyst but you need to have it investigated.

Take care

Definitely worth talking to your doctor about it if you're uncomfortable or upset. But the odds are unlikely that it is cancer, and there is a lot that has to happen before you would get a diagnosis of ovarian cancer! Write down what you're experiencing, track when it happens and for how long, present it to your doc and then try to engage in some anxiety-relieving practices. Sometimes you have to be persistent.

:( Try not to worry, like cHoski said it doesn't help to worry about it at this point. the odds are in your favor. I just meant that to be diagnosed with ovarian cancer there are exams and tests, like a pelvic exam, sonogram, etc. your doctor can do. But that's very far off at this point! you can be vigilant, but try not to be afraid. just take it one day at a time and take this time to be extra good to your body.

Please go somewhere else for a 2nd opinion. Did they make any plans to remove it.they can't just leave it there. While I was suffering with pelvic pain..I didn't give up.i have no insurance at this time!I went to one e.r.they said it was a bacteria/yeast infections. I told him I know what that feels like ..this is different. Another week passes I go to different hospital e.r. he runs more tests to find out if have cancerous cysts and tumors. I just had surgery last week!if they know it is a cyst what is the next step???

Apparently cysts are very common in women, the pains gone so I'm guessing it was just cramp from my period
