Chemo question

DX with stage 2a grade 3 serous OC in June. Started chemo of taxol/carbo on June 26. Had allergy to taxol so they needed to change it. Today was my next one where instead of every 3 weeks for 6 total of taxpayers/carbo they switched it to lower doses of Abraxane/carbo every week. My questions: has anyone done this? I hate that I now lose my 2 "normal" weeks. I don't have to to neupogen though and the TX time is shorter. Stinks because I went from 4 more treatments to 14. Also, I don't want to lose the feeling normal that I had after that first week. It really wasn't bad but for fatigue. However/ people say it's cumulative. So is this going to even matter- meaning I would have felt crappy all the time anyway with the chemo 3 weeks apart eventually? From my research it seems people preferred the weekly Abraxane as its much easier on your system. Any insight, thoughts or experience is welcome. Thanks!

I never did chemo weekly, but when I was on carbo/taxol every three weeks, the fatigue did accumulate with successive cycles. I remember thinking that I just had to put my head down and plow through it towards the end.

Best wishes,

Gwen

I had 3 weekly carbo/taxyl. Until half way I would get 2 or 3 days when I felt ok and had a bit of energy before the next infusion. After the 4th dose this changed and I developed a breathing problem and felt tired and crappy all the time.

Never had this chemo before but I have had most of them. It just depends on your body some chemo will make you tired and others won't bother you much. I pray this will be a smooth ride for you.

Belsie. Warm thoughts many prayers God has got this

Think you are still in 'shock' from you diagnosis, you need to think though what you and your Consultant are 'fighting'. I had 18 weeks of Carbo/Taxol - day one both - day 8 & day 15 Taxol, yes the fatigue was awful, but in gave me 10 months of a livable life back, your doctors have changed your Meds to suit you, to continue the fight. I am now on Gem/Carbo coping a lot better this time, do get tired in the evenings, think it is a price worth paying. Understand different Meds are tolerated by our bodies better than others. It will be worth you giving your new combo a good try.
