Diagnosed with colon cancer, had surgery. Now taking Xeloda. I want to know if my wife and I can sleep skin to skin while I take this. Does she need to wear full coverage pajamas. I like for her to lay her head on my shoulder, will this hurt her.

Questions about Xeloda for cancer
I did a little research regarding chemotherapy and bodily fluids, as long as you aren't having night sweats you can sleep in the same bed. But I don't know really anymore than that. Sorry. I would ask your nurse for advice on this.
Most of us who have MBC have gone through rigorous chemotherapy when we had early stage breast cancer. I’ve *never* heard of not being able to sleep skin to skin with your partner during chemotherapy. Not from oncologists, not from other cancer patients.
DearValley, I've never been warned about skin contact with any of the cancer drugs/ chemo I've taken. Always a good idea to ask your oncologist or oncology nurse any questions like this . Sending you prayers and good energy for much success with xeloda.
I do not believe this is an issue. Talk with the nurse but I am pretty sure it is not. I was never warned of this and we slept skin to skin.
Thank you all. We had an education class on this drug, and the pamphlet they gave us is confusing. It says we can hug AND KISS, tHEN IN ANOTHER phrase it says to sleep with barriers between us, and another are it says if I sit on the toilet, it has to be highly coloroxed before anyone sits on it again. I plan to call the hotline for this today. We have always slept very close and it is distressing at this time for us. With all this going on it is like our bod is broke. We are just mushy that way. Sorry
Are you on the metastatic breast cancer site because you are on Xeloda, and that is a treatment for mbc? You might have more in common with those in the colon cancer section.
