This may seem silly, but has anyone else noticed a skunky smell from their Ibrance? I am concerned about the temperature during shipment, too hot, too cold. I am wondering if this temperature change can affect the medication, and was wondering if the smell indicates a breakdown. Does anybody else notice the skunk smell when they pop one of those pills out of its foil packaging?

Ibrance smell
well, taste and smell are closely associated…and I remember complaining to the nurse that IBrance tasted like death. Really, after spending thousands on a prescription pill, they can’t put a pleasant or at least neutral coating on the pill?
But to answer your question…From Spokesman website: Ibrance (palbociclib) is supposed to be stored between 68 and 77 degrees Fahrenheit. The FDA permits brief temperature “excursions” as low as 59 degrees and as high as 86 degrees F. The delivery truck clearly exceeded that temperature. In the winter, many delivery vehicles will fall below 59 degrees.
I would call the manufacturer to make sure your meds are OK.
I don't smell or taste anything with Ibrance. I would call the Specialty Pharmacy who sent it to you and manufacturer.
I don’t smell anything on my ibrance.
Like the others here, I have been on it for 3 1/2 years and have never smelled or tasted anything. Mine does arrive within 2 days of ordering so that may be the reason.
I don't smell anything. Mine is shipped UPS overnight air with early morning delivery. Call Pfizer and the FDA for guidance on this very real problem. Insist on speaking with a medical person and get their name and position. Also, please ask the shipper to replace the bottle. Overheating and shipping too cold is a very real and dangerous problem.Blessings and good luck, Hannah
Does it smell kind of like moldy or mildewy? I get mine in 2 days each delivery. If on opening you have a strong smell I am in agreement with Artesa I would call the speciality pharmacy and let them know.
Also, you might like to contact Unite for Safe Medications. It is a non profit out of Missouri. The founders son nearly died from poor shipping. I met her when we both spoke to the Florida Board of Pharmacy. She is good and the real deal. Blessings, Hannah
if you live in a very warm climate, the specialty pharmacist packs medicine with a cold pack. I have always been able to smell the ibrance tablets… but never to a point of bad taste or smell. I’ve been taking since 2019.
I would ask my pharmacist or even contact Pfyzer
have not noticed any odor in ibrance
Yes, my Ibrance (125 mg) had an unpleasant odor- like plastic or rubber. It tasted like it too- I couldn’t swallow it fast enough!
I recently switched to 100 mg and it does not have any odor or taste.
