In need of some wise words

hello everyone,

as I’m sure most of you know my father has MBC diagnosed in June of 2022. Currently on Ibrance xjeva letrozole and monthly lupron. His 2 scans in September of 2022 and January of 2023 showed NED and his next scan is July 5. Please keep him in your prayers.

My mother developed a sinusitis infection. She had a dry cough that turned into chest congestion and then started coughing up phlegm and an ear infection too. She had to go on an antibiotic for this. My father started to develop a dry cough when my mom started to cough. Inevitably, my mind goes to bad places with my dad and I get concerned about his lungs because of this dry cough. He said he has a little bit of sinus involvement but I hope this is just from my mother giving this cold to him.

Sending you and your parents prayers ! I hope that they both just have colds and it's nothing serious . It's hard not to get scared when your father has cancer .

That happened to me! My husband brought home a cold . It was nasty. Tested negative for Covid. That was my big concern as I have one functioning lung. The other got fried with radiation and is now trapped in scar tissue and honey like fluid so I can’t have it drained anymore. I’m 59 by the way. When I got it, dry cough the. Dry heaves then similar symptoms. Hubby went on antibiotics. I simply called my onc, explained the symptoms and was prescribed the same meds. She was going to give me steriods of the meds didn’t work just to knock down the potential lung inflammation. All worked out fine. Be encouraged but have your Dad speak up to his onc! Sending prayers !

Oh, Jennifer, I'm so sorry that your family is going thru this! When my mother had lung cancer, nearly 30 years ago, it was soo stressful--worse than having this MBC myself! I hope it's just a cold or something else mild. Do your parents live in an area where the air quality is bad right now? It's sure had an impact on my breathing. Sending prayers and healing love....

thank you so much. They actually were traveling from Florida to NY last week and the weather was cold and muggy with a lot of rain so I think this is what caused my mom to get a cold with cough and hopefully that’s what gave my dad this dry cough

Hoping and praying your dad will be okay and that it is just a cold. I think lots of people get summer colds. Keep us posted. Sending hugs and prayers.
