Hey Autumn

I haven’t heard of this until now -thank you for sharing this encouraging development. I’ve been feeling a bit low and this has given me a little boost.

Yesterday was my 3rd year with my stage 4 diagnosis (had MRI to celebrate 😂) and oh my does time fly and the only clear thing I remember hearing at the time was “we can’t treat it, but we can control it”. It took me ages to realise it was code for “here’s a piece of string (aka your life) but we don’t know how long it is but we will be extending the string (aka treatment)”. All I heard was your a dead woman walking! A massive loop the loop rollercoaster ride of emotions for sure!

I’ve been on Cape since August 22, I’m hoping for stable results at least!

Dear Ntash01 - - Your post reminded me that it will be exactly three years on New Years' Eve that I went for the biopsy of my liver. Then, I knew. Four days later I was on a ship bound for the Panama Canal and out of contact with anyone. When I returned at the end of January, I was told, officially, that it was metastatic and that it was" incurable". I try to think of metastatic cancer as chronic rather than incurable.! What is your thinking now? Are you in pain?

Hey Jersey… why do crappy things happen during holiday seasons 🙄

I’m not in pain and I didn’t get the stable I’d hoped for following 2nd MRI on Cape. Just getting my head around things - will update shortly in a new post so it doesn’t get hidden in this thread as I’d like the advice/experience of others - hope you don’t mind, I’m still processing.

Dear Ntash01 that’s exactly how I’ve been feeling . 3 years this May 13 and “highly treatable but not curable” was supposed to make me not lose it - but every bit of time that goes by you realize it’s a guessing game. I have good days and not so good (this Christmas was a tough one - keep saying rally rally it’s Christmas! The kids are home!) but just dreading what if it’s my last. And I’m not a wallower this has only recently been happening. Anyway big hug to you and the ladies and thanks Autumn love for posting this encouraging article . ❤️

I read this article when it first appeared but unfortunately the results weren’t good for everyone. A treatment that has a 30% success rate is great if you’re one of the 30%. Researchers are working on improving that number but it’s probably still a while off.

It’s interesting to see advances and there’s been several new treatments released this year so there’s hope ahead.

I also saw and posted this article a few weeks back. I am keeping my eyes peeled for similar trials near me, but I might be open to a trip to NYC and Mt. Sinai. It’s always worth a phone call or email to the doctors to find out more. These vaccines and T-cell therapy are opening up new possibilities. There is so much in the pipeline

I definitely would let you know and update the board. Right now things are going very well on Ibrance and Letrozole. However if there is a change I’m calling Mt. Sinai.

It makes me sad to think they have a shot that could cure us and has been proven safe and is cheap to make, but not offering it to us who are dying with this disease, yet I get a pill that costs 17k a mo. and doesn't cure me. I would love to take a shot at this vaccine, why are we denied compassionate access or whatever it's called? I'll take the 3 in 10 odds! better'n ZERO chance of being cured!

Great follow up article. Biggest Medical breakthroughs of 2022. The cancer vaccine is listed as #5. Merck, Moderna, Vanderbilt and Mt. Sinai all highlighted as working on a vaccine. So great to see all these developments
