It’s been awhile since I have been here and I have missed you guy, but you are in my mind (especially those of you who are struggling!
Marian did you start that bone strengthener? It is working wonders for me! Took all the bone pain away!! No side effects at all (and I have no veins either).
Betty, my travel soulmate hahahaha.
My dear mom passed away in January. I convinced her to do dialysis so she had another 2 quite great years so I’m grateful and now celebrating her life. (No more suffering for her).
I went on short term disability as the stress of my job as a European Travel Specialist was just detrimental to my health. (The whole world was going to Europe and I was the one booking it 🤪)
Celebrated my 7th anniversary and we went on a road-trip and horseback riding! Didn’t think I would ever do that again with cancer in my spine and ribs!
I just got back from a wellness retreat in Coimbra, Portugal where I was supposed to volunteer for a whole month but just got back after 10 days because it didn’t pan out quite as I had hoped. The owner was a bit of a slave driver and food not as plenty as expected. Literally in the middle of no-where with no access to buses. It was a 2 hour train ride from Lisbon and another 1 hour bus ride with 3 hours waiting time in between! Oh boy! Just so happy to be back home, hahahaha but it WAS an adventure!
Enjoy all the things you do today!
Love to you all! 💕

it’s great to hear from you. I’m glad everything is going well with your treatment.
I’m sorry to hear about your mom 😢.
I just started back to work full time and I miss not being on a schedule 😟 but there are many other benefits to it. I wish part time was an option but sadly it doesn’t pay the bills 😫
only been on Xeloda 3 cycles and my scan showed slight progression and my skin Mets aren’t improving. She’s giving me until June 21 to visibly see a difference else she wants me on Enhertu. I’m terrified of that for the lung side effects
My sense is enhertu is VERY effective, but yes the side effects can be a bear. And I know you've had lung issues. That said she is prescribing it with that knowledge?
Beautiful pictures. Sorry to hear your mother passed away but glad you have the memories with which to celebrate her life. It is good that you are able to step back from the stress to take time to focus on your well being.
Just getting switched to new treatment (Kisquali) next week. So will be seeing how side effects go before making big plans. Had record setting high temperatures in Seattle during month of May, but hoping summer is more low 70’s. 🙏🏻🙏🏻 May be making a couple of trips to NYC, depending on whether daughter decides to accept offer to attend grad school there.
I hope you have a beautiful summer in Toronto, sweet sister! 💗💗 Linda
can you tell me the bone strengthener name that you used- I am taking anastrozole and ibrance and have bone pain from osteoporosis etc and would like to get on something
Lovely to read your post and all the people that are doing well -
Xgeva worked really well for me, back when I needed it when first doagnosed with bone mets. It was actually the first drug I got to take so I know it helped!
Thank you for reaching out to me. I am doing very well. Had a scan a few weeks ago and it was negative. They called me when I was on my way home with results. You can imagine my relief. I had a follow up bloodwork for my tumor marker and the number was down, again much relief. I am trying to live my best life, playing golf, socializing, being spiritual, eating healthy, etc. I don't always do well with not worrying about things, though, and right now that is a difficult part of this journey. My husband and I are planning some short trips this summer to other golf courses in Florida as well as some nature areas. I love to take pictures almost as much as I love golf. I will send you a picture in a private message. Sending you hugs.
Hi Mir, l am so glad you are feeling like yourself. That is really great. I was just wondering if you had radiation for back pain? Egeva? Something else? Great to see you active and having fun. I am in Cleveland Hts, Ohio, very hot here as well. 🌺
I am so sorry for your loss. I lost my mum last September, while I was literally travelling to my home country to see her for the first time since the pandemic started! My mum lived a good long life though, 92! I'm glad you got that extra time with your mum. Was that like a workaday you were doing in Portugal? Glad you got out of that situation! My son is about to go to EU to do 2 workaways, one in Germany and one in Switzerland, and I worry a bit about the conditions they may encounter!
Awww that must have been devastating to have missed her. I couldn’t make it in time either but I was okay with it. She died in her sleep on her own terms. I couldn’t have loved her more, no regrets.
Your son will be just fine! It’s just that I am NOT a kid anymore 😂 It just wasn’t for me in the end. Germany and Switzerland are such great countries. I’m from the Netherlands myself.
😂 I know, often we all like to think of ourselves as younger than we actually are hey?
Is that from the the place in Portugal? Such a wonderful country! I had a week there many years ago. Yes I'm excited really for my son to get to do the EU travel thing for himself I know he'll make the best of it. They're flying into Amsterdam and have 2 days there before they begin on the work part in Germany. And travelling to Italy in between too. All great places to visit!
We have a "Dutchie" in our family! A really lovely man ended up marrying one of my nieces after doing extra studies in Australia. And I spent 2 months in Den Haaag , also a loooong time ago, doing a work/study project there. Loved it!
