Relax and Restore

Just wonder what you do when you need some downtime, in "me" mode. (My issues are mostly fatigue /low energy and pain.). Recently I came to grips with the idea of taking pain meds (just didn't like idea, fearful, stubborn, etc). So I take Tylenol and a low dose prescription as needed. They can be taken together. Can't take NSAIDs. This time of year I also like local dairy eggnog to which I add some alcohol (docs ok with this). Recliner in front of fireplace with a "cozy mystery". How do you "chill".

By watching Netflix with my dog and listening to fiction books through headphones whilst I water my garden! Small pieces of chocolate are also very helpful!! 😉😊🌸

Sounds lovely. I am more of an audio person (can close eyes, lol). Recently bought a small table top sirius radio...listen to watercolors (smooth jazz) and have found a Christmas station...yes, listening already! With eggnog!! Local candy company's homemade chocolate covered graham crackers, only available this time of year. In morning. Coffee!

Always in a recliner or lying on my bed. Reading, playing games on my phone, watching tv or talking on the phone. In the summer, floating in the pool on my float that has a canopy so I’m in the shade! Love it!

The pool.sounds lovely. I'm in recliner most of day. I also forgot to say I always have a puzzle going and work a little on it a few times a week. I get a little vertigo if I text too much. But I do watch a couple of slot machine folks who record and post on YouTube. Love seeing them play. Love the different machines and that I don't lose money by watching,!

I float and hang upside down in a warm pool when I want to chill and relax. It helps that I live in a warm place and have my own pool. But if I can’t actually be in the pool, I meditate about being there.

I agree with meditating about being in pool. I use imagination all the time. Amazing how it helps.

Having imagination really helps!

I’m sure you’ll get loads of ideas on here which will be interesting but guess it’s what you like to do. I use . Netflix series for distraction, walking mostly on my own using new paths , baking if you’re not queasy. Tai chi, family history. And sometimes just sitting in a chair looking at nothing in particular for a few hours !!

Bikebabe- love the sitting in a chair looking at nothing!! I am trying to develop that skill. I walk in warm weather, csn fo so in cooler weather of there is no chilling wind!

I’m not much of a relaxer by nature, but my downtime almost dittos Nocillo lol. My tv watching is either sports or, my new addition to crime solving shows.

I wish I was crafty, like knitting or crocheting or sewing but I don’t have the attention span to learn how haha.

Thanks...get the attention span issue. Like the crime solving show...I read "cozy mysteries", mostly crime solving.

I walk, paint or embroider. If I feel the need for more calming I have a hypnotherapy tape that takes me into a subconscious state. I come to, feeling refreshed! X
