Xeloda
I had a year of good results with Xeloda.
Here goes:
Buy bag balm and Good feet in large quantities. Put this on with socks religiously day and night. Your hand and feet will peel but this helps. I no longer have thumb prints which makes using devises with fingerprint unlocks impossible.
I use vicks vapo rub and/or tea tree oil on my finger and toe nails because they got a little funky on this med too.
Stop taking multi-vitamins. Something in them made everything worse and when my Onc told me to stop, things improved.
Had some nausea - used Dramamine brand ginger chews.
I think I have some other posts on this on my page. Good luck! It really was not that bad for me, it just stopped working after a year.
I purchased silicone socks from Amazon as I have found these work better than cotton socks while your feet absorb the cream. Just be sure you plan to rest for at least an hour once you have the silicone socks on as they are super slippery combined with the cream. We don’t need falls on top of everything else.
Also I might add that be sure to eat at least half hour before taking meds and limit folic acid (dark leafy greens) as I have read that too much exasperates hand/foot symptoms.
I had severe mouth sores first month, they lowered dose and I haven’t experienced since. Call right away and ask for magic mouth wash if you experience this as it helped immediately.
Wishing you all the best on these meds, hope you get many months of stability.🤗

Hi Susie,
I have been on Capecitabine (Xeloda) since the end of July and my first scan has shown no new growth and some shrinkage- hooray! I am finding it very tolerable, although I had a 10% dose reduction and a prescription for B6 after the hand/foot syndrome got worse. I now feel better than I have for about a year. There is a great Facebook group which will provide lots of info/ advice on this- Xeloda (Capecitabine) support group.
Good luck- Xeloda can be very effective and hopefully it will be for you.
