I am currently NED after being diagnosed with mbc in April 2020, have had a right mastectomy and elective left mastectomy. My question is are any of you in the UK suffering scan reporting delays? I had my 3 monthly scan on 9th June, results are still not back and indeed won’t be til 29th July when I go to see my consultant for the results. Have been advised the reporting on scans is now up to 9 weeks, is this just the case in Shropshire or is it national issue?

Holy goodness ! In the United States, I get mine within 24 hours in my patient online portal . It would be sooooo her for me to wait that long for results - eek !
Here in Saskatchewan which has socialized medicine, I receive scan results directly to my personal site under "Mysaskhealthrecord". My last CT scan was 28-Jun-22 at 11:26 CST, and the results were posted just over an hour later, at 1247 CST. This was particularly fast, but I've never waited more than three hours. Lab results are equally fast, except for CA 15-3 results which take days.
HiYes my scan was beginning of June and reported last week . That’s North East of England. Onc said shortage of radiographer’s to report plus national shortage of oncologists apparently too.
Ooh, in that case I feel very lucky. They've recently been able to fit me in at short notice for radiotherapy treatment, oncology appointments, and starting my new line of treatment.
I haven't been told there's a delay to reporting. However I had my PET scan on 7th July. I will get my results on 26th July. This is the first available slot the consultant has to see me and apparently its only a consultant that can give the results.
Delays for whatever reason, in my view, should be minimal. It can cause considerable anxiety, as we all know. Time for change.
My goodness that is a long time! I had to wait 3 weeks last time, but I can call my personal care physician after a few days as he always has the results too. Is that an option for you? Peggy
makes the heart sad to read that you are experiencing scan results delay. waiting for results was the hardest part, for me. grateful that i receive the results from the onc, the day of the scan. may you find ease while you wait. may the results remain NED.
Wow! What has gone wrong with your system in England? Perhaps you need a change of government. As I just replied to AvidBooklover above, in Saskatchewan, I can expect results in less than 3 hours, delivered directly to my private site.
