Had my scans yesterday with good news . No changes stable with only one area that concerned me . It showed inflammation in both lungs called pneumonitis . Right worse then left . It actually said left lung was improved but it was never mentioned in any report before yesterday . Did some research and it could be a side affect from ibrance . I feel great no symptoms for me . I did have covid last Christmas but never had a cough . Did anybody else ever have any experience with this ?

Hi I just wrote the same question!! Its a rare symptom that can be dangerous..I just got a cat scan result out of the blue both lungs have inflammation and my doctor scared the crap out of me. I have been on it 18 months and no problems now they are all scared about the lungs and not the cancer. Can you tell me what your doctor said...
I was showing inflammation in July after a CT scan. They thought it could have been a viral infection so repeated the scan early October and saw improvement but slight scarring which has never been mentioned before. I’m on Arimidex and Xgeva Cheis
I read it can be a side affect. By any chance did you get the vaccine even tho you had covid?
Hi everyone, That’s really interesting I’m in the UK and am waiting for 6 monthly scans in 2 weeks after 12 months on ibrance and Letrozole .I’ve noticed a flemmy cough in the last few weeks which just appears specially in the morning .
I hadn’t mentioned it to my oncologist but am going to and see if it could be ibrance related .
Love to everyone on this site your all wonder full helpful ladies xxx💕
Hello. I had radiation to right side of my ribs and part of my back. Six months later I'm having a hard time with the pain and breathing. I had had radiation in February. And the lung issues started to happen in May. Which they told me it can take up to 6 months before you get radiation pneumonitis. They thought it might be ibrance too. However if it's ibrance should be showing up as both sides of the lung. Then to make matters worse I had covid in April right before so it was a horrible collision of both issues. If it is pneumonitis and it isn't going away on its own they want to put you on steroids for like 6 months. I got myself a pulmonologist to take care of me even further. And now it's mostly all resolved and I feel fine. it was radiation pneumonitis and not from ibrance but they were worried it could have been ibrance
Pneumonitis was found on scan after I'd had 5 cycles of my first line treatment. I was due to have 6 to 8 cycles but they stopped at the 5th cycle as the treatment was "causing toxicity to my lungs".I too wasnt feeling any symptoms.
I've had no mention of pneumonitis since so I guess it's not got any worse or has perhaps resolved?
This is what happened to me. Others may have a different story.
