Glad to have found this group it has helped - I had stage two breast cancer 3 years ago alsnjad am axilliary dissection 24 lymph nodes removed- been painful als nerve pain for last 3 years - had regular bone scans and this last one showed metastasis in one spot on my pelvis
Now recommending 75 Ibrance and anastronole -I had stereotactic radiation with very painful after effects for a month -
Cal anyone tell me if the 75 mg is tolerated well-I’ve not ever been on medications before, and o feel so unwell when taking anything
I am very worried and scared about the severe Side effects the oncologist told me can happen-
What are chances of metastatic tumour spreading without taking these drugs -at this point it’s on my pelvis only
They said the stereotactic radiation can work very well -but suggested Ibrance - would really appreciate anyone with similar experience and what side effects were like at 75 mg
Thanks so much

I was on 125 mg of Ibrance , I have had low white blood cells , a couple of mouth soresI feel a little tired , so my oncologist put me om 100mg. but nothing really bad at all , I have metastatic breast cancer in lungs, I had a CT scan in April and my results were stable I am doing really well, I also take Letrozole , I have been taking both of these medications for nearly 2 yrs, as time has gone on , side effects have got better , no mouth sores , I feel really lucky to have been able to take this medication , I know you will feel anxious taking new medications , have a good think about , good luck xx
Hi There, I am sorry to hear about your MBC. I also had MBC to bones only (2 lesions), radiation completely zapped them and Ibrance/Letrozole is keeping everything stable. I reached NED just after only 4.5 months of treatment. Ibrance was tough the first month, better second month, and now barely any side effects (I just sleep a couple of more hours a day and my hair has thinned out significantly). Everyone is different. Take easy and listen to your body.
Wow that’s fantastic , NED, I am so happy for you, I love hearing such brilliant feedback , it makes my day 😊. I too have thinning hair, I found a good hair Topper on Amazon , I customised it similar to my own hair, I can’t believe the confidence I have when I wear it , It just clips onto the hair where it is not as thin and covers the top , I bought some extra clips and sewed 2 more in for more stability, People didn’t even know I am wearing it I cut the fringe , It’s real hair, I can straighten it , It took a few days to get it right , but now I have a couple to alternate, I try not to wash them too much , can go a bit frizzy, I had to invest in some good straighteners to get the best effect, Xxxxx
Apart from the fatigue and hair loss in the beginning, no real drastic side effects. Don’t worry and take it a day at a time. Get good rest when you need it! Good luck!
Thanks for reply- I am glad you’ve not had serious side effects - I haven’t started yet- I guess it will take a few months to adjust and see how my body reacts- it seems to really help womenAre you on the .75 mg she wants to start me lower dose
I started on 125 but was reduced to 100 due to low neutrophils. I also take it for 3 weeks then 2 weeks off.

I tolerated Ibrance fairly well. Was diagnosed in 2013 with bone mets to the left hip. I am now on Verzenio and Tamoxifen. It works well for me except for the diarrhea which I control with pills. It shows no progression to minor slow progression. Next scan is August.
Hi Tantalon 7211. I have been on 125 mg of Ibrance and Letrozole for six months with very minor side effects. Some minor hair thinning on my scalp, eyebrows and eyelashes and some minor hip joint pain. After all the side effect warnings from the Cancer Center Pharmacist, Speciality RX Pharmacist, and the Nurse Practitioners it was relief. My overall SUV on my PET scan is down and Liver Mets are shrinking. This is a wonderful medicine. I am at the beginning of my metastatic journey and otherwise healthy at this time. I am still working full time from home. My routines are to drink lots of fluids, eat Whole Foods mostly plants (but love a great steak on occasion) stretch each day, strive to exercise 150 minutes a week, stay connected with people and Pray. There are many tools in the toolbox for people who can’t tolerate Ibrance with lots of other options available. I pray you get a good long run on Ibrance with zero to minimal side effects.
Mets to spine, hip and small lesion on brain in 2017. Been NED since after surgery, radiation and gamma knife. Been on Letrozole and Ibrance since 2018. I was fearful of side effects as well. Started on 125 mg and now on 100 mg due to low counts. I have done very well on this combination. I think your body begins to adapt after you are on these medications. I take a daily Claritin to help with bone pain (and my allergies). My hair thinned some, only I noticed and not my stylist. Fatigue comes and goes but you get used to it. I currently teach HS full time. I wish you well.
Hi. I’ve been taking Ibrance 125 mg for a little over three years. The worst side effects I’ve had were issues with my nails. I had a couple toe nails fall off and my finger nails got really weak. I take biotin now which has helped tremendously for my nails. Besides being tired Ibrance hasn’t bad. Much better than the alternative would be! Good luck! ❤️
I've been on Ibrance for 2.5 years - started at a higher dose but have been on 75 mg for 1.5 years. I have felt fine but did lose some hair and my nails now split and break easily . I had very thick hair and nails . I think I'll try biotin as SunshineBoss recommended honestly I don't know if it's Ibrance or faslodex or both contributing to hair and nail issues but overall I have felt good !
I have been on Ibrance 125 mg and Letrozole for over 1 and 1/2 years and have tolerated both of them well. I also did not have a lot of lesions but did have radiation on both of them. So far scans and bloodwork have been good. The only side effect I have experienced is hair thinning. You should do fine on 75mg. Sending hugs and best wishes.
