Ibrance side effects

Hi everyone. I started Ibrance 125mg Sept. 2017 then changed to 100mg in June of 2018. I think I’m experiencing some more side effects (nausea, vomiting and rash). Has anyone else had this happen?

There's a ton of possible side effects; you can get more information on the Pfizer website about Ibrance. Common, I think, are digestve issues like constipation, nausea, that sort of thing. I was experiencing intestinal pain, gas, constipation on 125mg Ibrance. Not all the time, which I find weird, just occasionally. I've reduced to 100mg and most, not all, of the GI issues have resolved themselves. I don't know about rash (skin rash?), but you should certainly talk to your onc about anything you're experiencing.

I've been on Ibrance/letrozole for 10 months. A lot of my hair fell out, but that stopped about 2 months ago. I've had no sense of taste for the past 3-4 months; my taste has returned like 50%. At least I can taste most food again.

Thank you. I’ve experienced a great deal of hair loss, too so I just keep it short now. These other symptoms are new so I’ll definitely discuss with oncologist. I’ll have my usual CT Scans and MRIs in March.

Sharon life dear, I'm sorry to hear about the more problems. I too have missed attic breast cancer in my lumbar and threat the attic bones and my right hip. Diagnosed about two and a half weeks ago. I don't know about the scans it showed up on my MRI of my back which was a complete surprise. But when they took a PET scan it did show all the spots all the way down for my I have one of my shoulder and then of course all the way down the spine so I can't really tell you I'm not a doctor on scans and mine showed up on Bowles I'm just starting eyebrows on Wednesday I hope you do well dear I am new on this site and have love in my heart for you my sister in the fight.

Have your side effects happened before? Do they go away when you are on your week off? If they have just happened, you could just have GI upset from a food or other virus. If they are continuous and/or reoccurring please call your oncologist. My experience is that my body has gotten used to the drug and except for tiredness I don’t have any major problems with it. Food tasted funny and I had some diarrhea in the beginning, but that has gone away. I’ve been on it since May of 2018. I hope you feel better!

I’m thinking it’s the Ibrance since I’ve been on it a while.

I didnt have those side effects, but did have others. Sores in mouth, extreme fatigue, constipation. I have been put on 75mg and 100mg of ibrance. I alternate each one for my three week cycle. It seems to help. Scans have been good.

I am on my second cycle of ibrance 125mg and letrozole.

I actually had a rash on arms hands and feet. When I told my onco about it she seemed dismissive about the rash and said t could have been anxiety. But now that I read your post maybe not?

Have your onco give you an rx for clobetasol its the only thing that worked.

All the best 😘

My oncologist sent me to a dermatologist and they prescribed a steroid cream but that hadn’t helped. The rashes appear mostly on my chest around my port and the back of my neck and scalp.

That rash pattern and location is a chemo related rash from the ibrance! That rash is in all the side affect documentation.

They need to lower your dose. Sorry your dealing with this😪 get all ibrance inserts and read up and show your oncologist.

Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

Just low WBC so now on 75mg with no problems ( knock on wood). Maybe lower your dose again ask your onc.

I’ve been on Ibrance since December 2017. The nausea became a side effect in 2018, so I take generic compozine every day that I take Ibrance and not on the off week. That helps a lot.

My GERD acts up, so I’m taking pantoprazole. Otherwise, aside from blood count issues and some fatigue, it’s working out for me.

So sorry you are having unpleasant side effects.

I have been on Ibrance/letrozole for FOUR YEARS!! THE 125MG DOSE!!! When I first started this therapy I had numerous side effects. Headaches, much hair loss, very dry skin, dry brittle nails, bone pain, joint paint, very dry mucous membranes, nosebleeds and, of course FATIGUE. ENEMY NUMBER ONE IS FATIGUE! The other symptoms seem more tolerable le now, I think I've learned to deal with them, but the fatigue is a major issue.

I've never had a problem with nausea, but I do suffer from moderate heartburn.

I have been on Ibrance 100mg and Faslodex for 10 months. I used to have belly bloat but that has subsided, I eat small meals. I have very dry skin around my nails and my head itches. Fatigue is my main complaint. I also have been consistently sick since October, bronchitis, flu, colds now ruptured ear drum, not sure how I did that seeing ENT next month and last few days sore throat. My oncologist is checking my antibodies next month. My counts are low but still get injections. All of this is so confusing. I find it strange how we can be on the same treatment but yet there are such fast differences in side effects.

Best wishes

Robin

Hi Robin

Sorry you are having so many problems...😥

We are all different in how we respond to treatment and the side effects. Hang in there. I saw an ENT for recurrent ear infections/fluid in ear. That was in 2001 when I was initially diagnosed with stage 1 and going through IV Chemotherapy. They put tubes in my ears and I never had another problem. I hope the doctors can offer you some relief.

Keep the faith.

Namaste

I have been taking it for a year and severe constipation, exhaustion and itching. It also knocks my neutrophils down low and I have to wait three weeks instead of one to start my next cycle.
