Hi Minou82 I am a fellow canadian , which province are you from ?

I am glad they lowered your Ibrance dosage for you , it baffles me that they start it high and then lower it . Apparently they say it is just as effective at a lower dosage .

Welcome to the group but sorry you need to be here. This is a group of amazing women willing to share their experiences & knowledge on this journey of MBC

Hi l am Toronto They start off high for two months too see how we react .

TO is about 3 hours from where I am . You will have access to wonderful drs and treatments there as it is such a large population of people . I hope the lower dosage has less side effects for you , I know the lower dose helped me . I got 24 months of stable reports before I needed to change treatment .

Take care

I hope so too.....its not a easy road I am Happy 😊

Why did you have to change Dosage and to what meds?

in reply to

The dosage of Ibrance was lowered to 100 mg because my blood counts were too low and not being able to regain in the week off . The cycles were needing an extra week off each time. I had also been feeling poorly from side effects. Then I had a scheduled CT scan and it showed Mets in my liver so my oncologist suggested that I needed a treatment change . During this time I also had a swelling of a lymph node in my neck , I had a biopsy it had shown that my HER2 status had changed to HER2 positive.

I switched to an IV a chemo , Paclitaxel, herceptin & perjeta.

From what I have read many many people get very effective treatment with the lower dose of Ibrance for a long time .

Wishing you the best !

Luann
