Hi all. Loving our spring weather allowing me time with my hands in the dirt making our back yard really peaceful. Therapy for me.
My hair is thinning primarily in front. I’m on Ibrance and letrozol - the usual 3 weeks on and 1 week off. Last blood test WBC low. Any suggestions/experience about hair loss. Once it starts what to expect?
Thanks for sharing.

Hi Kathy hair thinning is typical during CDK 4/6 and letrozole treatment. First of all this might be a temporary condition. Have you tried specific shampoo ad conditioners for hair loss? My hair became inconsistent, curly, but I had good results using these products. My oncologist didn’t allow me to take any oral supplements due to possible interaction with cancer treatments and because supplements often contain group B vitamins.
I use Biotin. It has really helped me. I started hair loss immediately and I read somewhere to try that for hair loss with cancer. It helped me immensely. There is another (note spelling) Biotene out there that is for dry mouth. So use Biotin for hair loss and Biotene for dry mouth. The Biotene for dry mouth comes in lozenges and a liquid form. Hope this helps
I have Biotene for dry mouth. So glad you defined BIOTIN rather than BIOTENE. Thanks for the tip. Currently my WBC/RBC are low as well as hemoglobin, So my Ibrance dosage is being reduced from 125 to 100, Hope that will also reduct hair loss. Thanks for sharing
Hi sonycamera! (you're a photographer? If so, please do share some pics! ).
My hair is is a crazy mess, b/w IV chemo (many years ago..turned my pencil straight light brown to wiry black curls) and then treatments for metastatic disease (thinning wires), plus maybe aging? **But I still don't have any gray**
I recall my oncologist saying at some point that Rogain (sp? it's the anti-baldness stuff, typically associated with men?) is effective for thinning hair. Might be worth a try?
Hi, can I ask what powder you use ? Yes my hair is a lot thinner but it is does level off after a few months but I have a bald patch where I had Radiotherapy on my skull which this could maybe help with ..thankyouxx
I had shoulder length hair but the hair loss left me with pathetic looking rat's tails. I kept my hair up for 9 months contemplating a new hairstyle and which would suit me. A couple of months ago I saw a discount offer at an expensive salon and bought a voucher. Just over two weeks ago I went along with pictures of what I wanted. I explained to the nice young hairdresser that my medication was causing hairloss and together we discussed the options. I left that salon with a short trendy hairstyle and felt 15 yrs younger! Because my hair is shorter it's easier to style and the hair left in my comb isn't so obvious and disheartening! My hairstyle is a work in progress because I will try and become colour free! I pay more attention when applying makeup and do the best I can with what I've got to work with 🙂 🙋
Lovely new hairstyle. Upside to a downside. My hair is really short anyway and completely grey. At first I thought hair loss was aging then I read on Health Unlocked it can be part of side affect from Ibrance. Now I'm watching closely and thinking of something to use as antidote. Thanks for your reply
