My liver is still growing, quickly, which isn't the norm for invasive ductal carcinoma. I am now off fulvestrant and will be going on xeloda try to get these tumors to shrink tomorrow after blood work gets back.
My onocologyst wants to do a biopsy of my liver tumors to see if they are my primary's type her2-. They could be another type π€·ββοΈ.
That is the frustrating part, this not knowing why this is happening.
I am hoping that once I start taking xeloda tomorrow these tumors will shrink or get rid of them. Other than this annoying liver there is no other tumors π€·ββοΈ.
My question...give me some good stories about xeloda π₯°

I had liver spots show up in my PET while on ibrance+faslodex+lupron. Liver ultrasound didn't show anything. Switched to xeloda only, and the spots were gone in the next PET. Also a pulmonary effusion and spot in a lymph node disappeared. So be hopeful! Be sure to have zofran or some anti-nausea meds + ginger chews/tea around, because the nausea can really kick in. Also hand-foot syndrome builds up over time.
Thank you so much for your response. I appreciate your advice. I have raw ginger on hand to put in hot water. My onocologyst told me about the hands and feet and the dry skin and did give me nausea medication.
After four months on Xeloda I never experienced nausea or severe hand foot syndrome, just thinner skin on fingertips. I can say I feel much better than on Ribociclib + letrozole. My hair too looks so much better! I wish you the sameπ€β₯οΈ
I was originally thought to be Her2- when I was stage 3c. Was finally able to get a liver biopsy a year into being metastatic as I didn't respond great to Verzenio or Afinitor (both with Faslodex) and we recently found out i'm now Her2+. We think that's why I haven't done well with the previous two drugs. Here's to hoping the upcoming Her2 treatments do work well for me.
