Got the results from scan, Xeloda not working as expected. Some tumors have become smaller on spine, but more activity in liver, and hip tumor larger. Very much in pain and will have radiation to help with pain starting Wednesday thru Nov.14th. If primary oncologist had of done the scans as he should have this would not be the case. Will do a liver biopsy Wednesday to see what is feeding the cancer. Possible two types going on, so glad I came to MD Anderson, just hoping its not too late.

i am very sorry to hear that! i am running out right now, but will write more tonight. in the meantime, just focus on what is ahead, not what did or did not go right with first dr. they throw a lot of stuff at this to see what works...they'll find something for your cancer... don't worry, take deep breaths, and carry on! i am very glad you are at mda!! xo
Thank you for the encouragement. I go for a liver biopsy tomorrow.. I'll let you know when I get those results. Right now my stomach hurts, they gave me tramadol, maybe that's what it is
i am so sorry you are having to do the biopsy...remember that the "figuring out next steps" is the worst part and it will settle down. remember - this is just a chronic disease...not a death sentence. you are in good hands!! breathe deeply. i gotta run to clean the garage that has 17 years of shit piled up in it... the stager is on my case... of course, this is as she is brining in mega boxes of other shit that she thinks will make my house sell... onward!! i will say an intention for you on my morning hike xoxoxoxo
You are in my prayers, Jaxon! So glad to hear that you are at a topnotch (if not the best) breast cancer center in America. You are in the best of hands, and I'm confident that their oncologists will steer you toward the most optimal treatment for your situation. Please follow up to let us know how you are doing. We all care!!
Love and prayers from Linda
Hi Jaxon!
How long did u wait between bone scans? I have mets to the bones...and it’s been since March ‘17 since I’ve had a bone scan...we’ve asked and he keeps saying it’s ok but when I read comments like I wonder...
Good luck on your biopsy! Prayers that they’ll find a good protocol for u! You’re in good hands there!
-Blessings!
If this is a repeat sorry, my computer is acting up. Standard procedure is scans every 3 months. First oncologist did not follow standard and if he had I would not be this far advanced. One excuse after the other. Too much radiation exposure, not long enough on current treatment, insurance may not pay, too soon to tell and don't want to get my hopes up or disappointed, I heard them all. INSIST, don't be like me and afraid to step on someone toes. I'm learning, just hope its not too late. Good luck
I hear u Jaxon! We do CT pet scans to chest abdomen pelvis and I’m like why don’t we do whole body Pet since I’m already in the machine. ( I have unmonitored mets to femurs and skull for 18 months now) will push harder in January when we need to rescan...😀
Yes, insist!!! Did a MLD genetic test today. Trying to figure out what is feeding the cancer. Won't have results for 3 weeks though. How does a person that needs to work for a living take so much time off of work. I am sooo fortunate that my boss is a God sent. I can take off as long as needed and he even pays for my flights from Amarillo to Houston....God bless him!!
Sister/Warrior: I am praying that the right combination of medicine will destroy this cancer Amen XoXo
