Im interested to hear the follow up to your break from verzenio. I too had a week break and the horrible joint pain and neuropathy went away! Was particularly bad in hands and feet. Pain level 8-9! Rheumatologist gave me voltarian pills 75mg and oncologist took we off the Verzenio. Next day pain at 1, now at 0! Im taking Faslodex, Zometa like you, my mets are throughout my spine. Diagnosed in 2019. Pleasepost a follow up if you can

Blessings your way.😁

I take a daily Claritin with my other meds (Ibrance and Letrozole) and supplements. It helps with my allergies as well as bone pain. I do have some arthritis as I was a past athlete, but I do not take arthritis medication.

Hi. I noticed that you were diagnosed in 2017. Your meds were my first line of treatment when I was diagnosed in 2019. I am on the fifth line now which is Xeloda, a chemo pill. Have you been on this treatment for all these years? Thank you in advance for sharing Best,

Marina

I've been fortunate so far. I am on my first lines of treatment after being diagnosed with MBC in 2017. Originally I was diagnosed with BC in 2006 and went through it all - chemo, surgeries, radiation, Tamoxifen. In 2018 we discovered that I have 2 very odd genetic mutations that can result in BC, colon and pancreatic cancer. It is ATM and Chek2 mutations which can be rare.

I endured extensive back surgery, hip and spine radiation and Gamma Knife. Stable since 2018 and each day is a blessing.

I am happy for you. It’s a long run. You are very fortunate. What Gamma knife surgery did you have?

I had a spot on my brain that they zapped in 2017.

It is very good that it helped. What Mets do you have now? Did you have progression throughout all these years? I wonder how you were able to stay on one treatment. Best

Claritin helps with your pain? Is that something you found here or did the Dr advise it?

I found out on my own. Claritin is an antihistamine that blocks histamine, so it decreases the amount of inflammation and swelling in the bone marrow and therefore reduces the pain.

My onocologist recently retired so I am hopeful that I will be placed with someone that listens to my concerns and research. No immediate love lost there - sigh!

I’m just on day 3 of Verzenio so quite concerned with the stomach cramps at the moment. They didn’t tell me to expect joint pain. Is that very common with this drug?

I read 50% have joint pain in hands after being on verzenio for a year. The most common side effect is diarrhea. I started on 150 over a year ago. Doctor had to drop me down to 50 mg about 6 mons ago. I have responded very well but recently developed osteoarthritis in hands. Then 3 weeks ago the joint pain moved throughout my body. Doctor percribed oral voltaren 75mg. Pain was gone in 4 hours! Doctor took me off the Verzenio when i developed diarrhea. Back on it for 2 days now. Still doing well

In my humble opinion it was not the Verzenio that caused the pain. More likely Arthritis. but having said that I really don't know. Just seems to make more sense.

thanks for the input I am 100% certain that my joint pain was an arthritis like reaction caused by the Verzenio . All pain in my joints is now gone. Joint paint is a well documented side effect of Verzenio. Im back on the Verzenio now (4 days) after the break and so far so good.

It ended up being the zometa bone builder. Went to every 3 months and paid. Gone!
