Self Injecction

Hi Lovely ladies

Today I had 2 bits of good news:

1. Stable scan results

2. I can self inject my Denosumab (Xgeva I think in US).

This means I rarely have to attend the hospital from now on. My GP does my Zoladex injection and my meds are sent in the post. I go for bloods once a month and get a telephone appt following this.

I am supposed to see the Oncologist after my 6 month scans, but that doesn’t always happen. It will be lovely to live my life and not have to sit and wait in the waiting room once a month.

Keep well everyone

Clare

ClareWoohoo

Made my night reading this. Congratulations on scan results and hope you celebrate with hubby. I bet you’re feeling so relieved.

That sounds like such a good idea for you , life will feel more normal, although for me it’s ok as they let me go from appointment 2 to the outreach oncology in my little town hospital I live next door to it as a stroke of luck so I never wait. 30 mins a month for the lot including bloods. I’m always the only one there with the nurse but if I had to go to Newcastle to my main cancer centre , yes definitely I would feel as you do as I went once and it was so busy and a full waiting room.

My scan is Wednesday, results 16th, fingers xd.

So happy for you.

Have a great night

Great news!

So happy for you! Hope you have brilliant deep sleeps now that your scan results are back and are stable!!

I know what you mean about being glad that you won't have to spend so long in the hospital....All the things I get done at my oncology centre are quick...the waiting in between though takes up the whole day sometimes... so now you'll have more time to do far more enjoyable things.

Best of all...the fact that the Doctors are giving you more slack means that they're happy and confident with your stable status....and that's the biggest relief of all.

Best wishes

Zoe xx

Thanks Zoe.I hope your wait times get shorter - all day is a real bind to be waiting

I’m good thanks ...just started 50th month of Ibrance tonight , tho’ I have decided to go to the local hospital phlebotomy dept for my monthly bloods (my bloods draw had been done at my local GPpractice during the pandemic and the results weren’t reliable enough ...probably due to transportation/handling of the bloods from the GPpractice to the hospital for testing ). But all fine again. Enjoy your Monday off! x

50 months is fantastic, well done.I prefer going to the hospital for my bloods. They know me there now, and I end up giving them physio whilst I’m there.

Time to get the bikes out again soon !

Oh my goodness, we hired a van for 2 days and it was non-stop moving of furniture. I am surprised I haven’t injured myself. Oh and Tudor pranged the van! Can’t wait for this to be over!!

How are you doing?

So happy for your good news and for less time at the hospital. I always feel better when I don't have to go in as often for testing or visits. My blood pressure always goes up when I go to see the doctor. Part of it is that I am always in the office for at least 1 or 2 hours waiting to see her. My visits now are every 3 months for bloodwork and doctor visit and every 4 months for scans with usually a phone call with results. That works fine for me for now. Sending hugs.

I know what you mean. I feel my bp rising with the wait, plus it’s so hot and stifling in there.Every 3 months is a good amount of time between visits.

Take care
