Hello ladies. I’m a visitor from the ovarian cancer forum (stage 4). My younger sister has been planning to drive from Missouri with her granddaughter to visit me over Christmas in Louisiana. She just called to tell me that her doctor advised that a recent mammogram came back birad 4. She could not tell me if it is A, B or C. She wants to know if she gets the biopsy in the next day or two, will she be able to make a long drive? If not, would it be foolish to delay biopsy until after Christmas (about ten days). We just don’t know when we might see each other again. I am 70 and she is 69. Any thoughts would be most appreciated ladies. Thank you

I can only speak from my 2004 needle biopsy experience. It was an uncomfortable procedure. That’s because the wire needle goes in quite a ways. Left a big bruise. It was very sore.
We still managed to go away a few days later. The diagnosis after the biopsy was Stage 2A I don’t know if the stage makes a difference in discomfort
Of course I was younger and nimbler! 😀
Sorry. I don’t mean to be flip. Humor helps me deal with this nasty thing. MBC diagnosis in 2018.
Thank you for responding. My sister called to update me. She is having the biopsy on Friday and will travel on Wednesday to come for out visit. If the biopsy results require further action, she will deal with it after our visit. I agree with you regarding humor. We need it! Many thanks and best wishes from Louisiana. Sashay
My suggestion is to tell your younger sister to GO and visit you. ! She will be able to make a long drive considering it is just a biopsy. Do not let this "thing" interrupt a fabulous holiday sweetie !
Thank you for taking the time to respond. My sister is having biopsy Friday morning and she will travel to visit me the following Wednesday. Many thanks for your kind response and best wishes from Louisiana. Sashay
