I have been in Xeloda for two weeks and my liver function enzymes jumped up high. The doctor took me off for two weeks already and repeated the bloodwork. The AST and ALP went slightly down while AlP (Alkaline phosphate) jumped up from 187 to 301 while I was on Xeloda rest. Did any of you experience the problem with the liver function? Please share. Thank you

My enzymes shot up on my first cycle. In fact my ALP was over 600. My NP seemed quite calm about it. Reduced the next cycle down to 3000 and my enzymes were back to normal within a few weeks. I have been on Xeloda now for 13 months. Good luck with it.
Hi Bentsen,Thank you very much for this information and encouragement. My Dose was 2000 and my Alp jumped to 300 Half dose of yours. Now my oncologist lowed the dose to 1500 Someone told me that people do well on a lower dose as well. Hope I will do too. We all have to rely on existing drugs until a new miracle drug ErSO will come out. I have faith in it. Good luck to you.
I wonder if that isn;t an indication Xeloda is working. Mine have gone down slightly but then I will be doing blood work tomorrow and we shall see. I will give the results when I get them.
My oncologist wanted me to wait until tomorrow (Monday) to do blood work so the results are within a day or two of my starting Procrit for low hermatacrit. I restart Capecitabine Tuesday morning.
Hi,Thanks for sharing. I stopped Xeloda for an extra week because of blood work as well. Now I started on a lower dose 1500 mg. I read in other comments that lower dose works as well. Hope it will work.
Good luck. I am very tired on Xeloda. Are you? Keep me posted please if you can.
