Piqray failed after 3 months, on to Xeloda

Hi,

I really wanted Piqray to work. I took all the diarrhea and high blood sugar for the past 3 months. But the latest CT scan showed Liver Tumors increased in size and number.

So, I'm on to Xeloda.

Does anyone have advice or feedback on Xeloda? what to expect, tips, success stories?

Thanks,

Karina

Hi Karina,

I'm currently participating in a clinical trial. When the drug stops working my oncologist suggested Xeloda as my next line of treatment, she told me that it works well on liver tumors.

Thanks for responding Kiera49.

Do you take an aromatase inhibitor with the Xeloda? What concerns are there with the blood? low white blood cells? low red blood cells or hemoglobin?

Do you limit your activity and travel because of the Xeloda?

No I just take xeloda on it's own, my bloods have all been ok so no problems, last times didnt travel much but only due to nausea but going to try go out this time, now taking stomach settler tablets and anti nausea tablets so hopefully get out, My challenge is to get an exercise medal for every month this year got 8 of them just need 4 more so that's motivation. All the best to you xx Tracey

Hi,

Do you take falsadex with it? It is my understanding that they are usually taken together.

I haven't taken it and don't yet know if I have the mutation. I am no help but am curious how folks are doing on it.

Best wishes for finding the magic drug. Blessings Hannah

Yes I took faslodex. I switched Letrazole to faslodex and kept the ibrance for one cycle, but my hemoglobin counts plumetted. So, I quickly moved to Piqray and faslodex. I required several blood transfusions. Then, after the 3 month scan showed liver progression on Piqray.

Good luck, Dear! My sincere hope and prayer for you is that this new combination will work for you without all those horrid side effects. You have been through the preverbal mill.
