I have been on Faslodex since June of 2019 and have stable . About 6 months ago a developed severe pain in my neck and shoulders. I assumed it was arthritis. The pain got so bad, that I went to see my medical doctor. He ordered an X-ray which led to an MRI and then a PETscan . I have metastasis to my cervical spine. My question is what treatment options are there and how successful were they?

Metastasis to spine
Hi Sevoia, v sorry to hear this. There are two arms of treatment. 1) Your systemic treatment may be changed from faslodex to something different. More options these days. 2) to resolve the pain in spine your doctor may ask a radiation oncologist if that would be helpful. It often works brilliantly for specific boney pain-causing mets. Hope you get good new options soon .
I had radiation to my hip mets 10 years ago and they have been stable ever since. I have had various drugs also. Some worked for awhile, some not at all. Right now I am on Verzenio and it appears to be working.
Cheers, June S.
Hello, Sevoia,I was diagnosed 4 years ago with metastasis to spine and iliac. I was on Ibrance/Letrozole combo for 34 months and then Faslodex for 9 months. Treated with Capecitabine for past 5 months. You have many options. Typically, with bone metastasis, the I/L combo seems to be the treatment of choice. God bless you and prayers for successful new treatment!
