Mouth Ulcer relief!

I just want to share that I have found a few things that have brought me some significant relief as I deal with mouth ulcers on my lips, tongue and gums. I found a mouthwash at Natural Grocers called Miracle Mouthwash. It it manufactured by "Uncle Harry's Natural Products" and claims to be non-toxic, alkalizing and detoxifying. The ingredients include:

Purified, Deionized, microfiltered water and 10 parts per million of silver mineral, calcium carbonate, Sea salt, mustard seed powder, alkalizing Ionic minerals, essential oils of peppermint, eucalyptus, clove, Wintergreen, and oregano. I also purchased some tea tree oil toothpaste and that is soothing.

Several months ago I bought a Luminance Red wand that I use three times a day. It hasn't made a significant difference for the last few weeks but before that I could really tell a difference in the length of time it took an ulcer to heal and even stopped one from developing if I noticed it early on.

In addition to the above, my TCM doctor has given me two herb mixtures, QBY and RDY for heart burn and mouth ulcers that I take daily. I decided to try homeopathic "drops" that I think have also contributed to speeding up healing.

I am taking Gallium Maltolate (I take Letrozole but stopped Ibrance after 4 cycles) that works to kill cancer cells like a "Trojan Horse" without damaging healthy cells. I have full support of this from my oncologist, his nurse practitioner and my naturopathic oncologist. The Gallium Maltolate can cause anemia and I suspect it has a lot to do with the the mouth ulcers. It also has caused me fatigue as the weeks go by, but I am certain that it is working. I will have a Pet Scan in late August to see if the cancerous spots on my lung, lymph and bone are gone after several months of this protocal.

Wow where do you get that Gallium Maltolate? Is that a new MBC treatment?

Dr. Lawrence Bernstein developed it. You can find out about him and gallium Maltolate if you search on Wikipedia.

For strong oral medications such as Ibrance, Verzenio, Afinitor etcetra, my natural oncologist suggested I buy a Gelatin Capsule that makes it easier to go down the hatch without causing mouth or stomach ulcers/sores. I've attached the link here.

I do 'pulling' with a teaspoon of virgin coconut oil for 20 mins each day and rinse with salt water when I remember. Coconut oil is very soothing.

Miracle Mouthwash was ordered for me when I got muccositis from my first treatment with Eribulin. It only took about three days for the muccositis to go away, gargling and then swallowing about 4 times a day. I keep some around, just in case! I would recommend it as the muccositis was very painful!

I’m doing much better. They have given me a couple of weeks off treatment to heal and become stronger. It feels wonderful. Today I’m at one of my grandson’s double header baseball game, enjoying the perfect temperature and sunshine. I see my oncologist on Tuesday to figure out the next steps.

My oncologist recommended Clobetesol applied to mouth sore even though it says for external use only. It cleared it right up. I also use biotene mouth wash.

Thanks for the best wishes about my upcoming scan. I appreciate you sharing your thoughts on Gallium Maltolate. The research materials that I shared with my care practitioners I don’t believe is readily available on the Internet. But there is evidence that metastatic breast cancer responds to this treatment or I would not have gone down that road. When there is anecdotal evidence from someone that you know and trust it makes a big difference. (It is reassuring to know that you have been on Ibrance for 38 months and experienced no mouth ulcers or maybe not even any side effects? My naturopathic oncologist is a big fan of Ibrance. He is also an MD.)

I am learning a lot from this forum. So many positively informed and supportive women appear here. Thank you all so much!

This is great to see. My doctor had sent in a prescription for Magic Mouthwash and the cost was so ridiculous I did not get it filled. I will try this one!

Yes I recall it was around nine dollars at natural grocers for the magic mouthwash. Good luck!

That would be fine...the stuff my oncologist called in was prescription only and was $180! I declined that prescription!

Hi there thank you for the info.I get mouth ulcers occasionally but they go quickly especially if I drink more water. I will definitely remember this if I get more of them.

Please let us know how you get on with your next scans. It’s always lovely to hear of people doing well on something different.
