MRI Anxiety

Thank you so much ladies for your support during my recent MRI anxiety. I did end up having the gadolinium contrast (after consulting with my Oncologist) as the results show more detail. The MRI was not as bad as I anticipated!! There was an aquarium and a bar graph to show how many minutes had passed as well ...that was a huge help to me as I am claustrophobic.

The results were clear of any tumors (thank you!!!) .... did show "mild non-specific scattered foci of white matter T2 prolongation most likely secondary to chronic small vessel disease". Anyone out there have these findings? My vertigo spells point to Meniere's Disease for which there is no cure, only management of symptoms.

I am so thankful for the support of you caring, intelligent and talented ladies...you got me through a very stressful event.

All the Best to you,

Maura

Hi! Congrats on clear scans! I had 2 brain lesions in November. The white matter thing also came up on mine. I never got a straight answer as to what it meant. But it was all but gone on the the next scan. Have a great 4th of July weekend!

Congratulations! So happy for you! Time to celebrate!

Maura — it’s hard not to dread these scans. You think you’re ok and then “scanxiety” looms as a test approaches. I’m sorry you worried. I’m grateful it went ok.

Be extra nice to yourself this weekend.

So happy you were able to get through your MRI and had good news. Scans are scary, not just the tests themselves but waiting for results. Stay strong and positive and keep getting good news!
