What next after ibrance and faslodex?

Hello everyone,

I got diagnosed with breast cancer (ER+(50%), PR+(10%), Her2-) in Nov 2016 - I got radical mastectomy. Without further treatment i got the first metastasis in March 2017 - on the spine. I got Femara / letrozole and was on it until 2019 May before it progressed and I got a couple of metastasis on two ribs. Then changed to ibrance and faslodex. The next progression was a bit more than a year later - a few more metastasis on the spine.

Since a month I am on a Nolvadex and Zole dronic acid (monthly).

Does anyone have a similar path of treatments? Could someone please share what’s possible next best treatment?

Thanks so much,

Yours truly

My Faslodex/Ibrance combo failed after about 10 months. I moved on to Xeloda 1500mg/twice daily 2 weeks on/1 week off. It's working and other than hand & foot syndrome the side effects have been minimal.

I have the same type as you and I’m about to come off the iBrance combo, switching to lynparza, which works similarly apparently . Have you ever sought out a second opinion? If not this would be the time to do it! Even if you like your doctor it’s always good to get a second opinion and the doc should not be offended by the idea. I’ve never actually heard of Nolvadex before (unless it’s a brand name like lynparza which is the drug olaparib)

See link. chemocare.com/chemotherapy/... is a good site to check out cancer drugs

Thank you for sharing this site. So I just saw there was better detail on my drug here than I had read on other sites. Good to be mentally prepared! Did you ever take Lynparza?

Hello, thanks for your reply and info provided. So far I have not considered lynparza. I read on the internet that lynparza is given to patients with BRCA1 genes inherited mutations. Have you been tested to for this? Is it positive for you? Nolvadex is probably the local brand name - the main ingredient is Tamoxifen.

Thanks very much!

I was diagnosed in 2009 with breast cancer in my left breast and lymph nodes. I had bilateral mastectomy and chemotherapy. In August 2017 was diagnosed with liver cancer with a large tumor 12cm. I did 6 rounds of chemo then went on Ibrance 75 mg. ( due to low white count) and Letrozole 2.5 mg. These have worked great for me for 3 1/2 years . The first part of May this year a new tumor measuring 2cm is in the upper area of my liver. I just completed Y90 Interventional radiology and will rescan in August. My Oncologist is going to change my treatment to Verzenio and Faslodex. I’m very thankful the Ibrance and Letrozole worked so well to destroy the large tumor I had. I highly recommend. The only side effects I had were pain in joints and fatigue. Best of luck to you!
