Hi. Just wondering if anyone went off these two meds because they stopped working after years and then went back on them and they worked again. I read a article from Dana Farber in Boston and it looked interesting. Thanks so much. M

Ibrance and faslodex
Great question!
I wish that were true. I switched from ibrance because of minor progression but ‘apparently’ on the NHS once you’re off CDK you don’t/not allowed go back on them I know it’s different in USA.
Marianne, can you please post a link to that article. Thank you!
I hope that is true!
Here is the Dana Farber article. dana-farber.org/newsroom/ne...
I am currently trying this. I took a 7 week a break from Ibrance. Stayed on Faslodex & Xgeva. Then restarted Ibrance for 3 cycles/months. My next PET/CT scan is 5/31/22. We will see if it worked. I’ll let you know.

Thank you! I’ll certainly update this thread in a few weeks!
Thanks very much for letting us know! Also, thanks for the research reference. It is good for those of us who care to keep on top of the latest findings!
hugs,
Cindy
The Dana Farber Study worked for me! dana-farber.org/newsroom/ne...
I did a 7 week break from Ibrance starting January 2022-March 2022 after my oncologist told me I had progression on a MRI in January. I had a PET/CT 2/4/22 that confirmed progression. He wanted me to move to Piqray but due to the side effects I read I told him I wanted to try the Dana Farber study on myself first. He hesitantly agreed.
Process & Results:
1. Previously on Ibrance 75mg, Xgeva & Faslodex
2. Stopped Ibrance late January (stayed on Xgeva & Faslodex)
3. Restarted Ibrance at 100mg mid-March.
4. PET/CT scan on 5/31/22 showed NO PROGRESSION & improvement from the 2/4/22 PET/CT scan.
5. Oncologist was happy & told me to continue Ibrance at 100mg & enjoy my summer!
So glad this worked!
Thankful to God for answered prayers!!!

I've read that before, years before Ibrance. I don't remember where. I think it was in the context of having success with one of the non-steroidal aromatase inhibitors, then Faslodex and then the steroidal aromatase inhibitor Exemestane/Aromasin and when each of those three quit working, some would get some more time from their first of those. I was diagnosed with mbc in 2004 and read alot and attended bc and mbc conferences and now don't always remember where I read/heard what. But I don't pay attention to sources that I don't consider solid. And I haven't a clue why this is appearing in italics! Definitely not a techie! LOL
