Be Careful with Exemestane

I do not mean to scare anyone, or pretend that I know everything, but for those starting exemestane I want to let you know what happened to me. I was put on Afinitor 7.5 and it did so well, my onc upped me to the 10mg. I thought all was going well, until I woke one morning with a headache. The headache got worse, and never went away, over the course of a couple of days. I decided, on my own, that I would go off all my meds and take a break for a short time. I called my onc's office to let them know. Within a few minutes, my onc called and told me to go the ER immediately. I almost didn't go...it was only a bad headache. Within a few minutes of arriving, all hell broke loose. My blood pressure was 250 over 90! Long story short, Afinitor and Exemestane were to blame. I know everyone reacts differently, but please watch your blood pressure and be careful with these two.

I got off of Ex this Tuesday (5 day trial) while waiting for Afinitor to arrive. I didn't sleep for 5 nights, my heart was about to explode, with daytime anxiety and hot flashes. My onc switched me to Xeloda, to start next Monday.

For the first time, since 2014 (BC stage 1), I am energized and ready for the challenge Xeloda! I ordered PurOrganica Urea 40% Foot Cream today, just in case I get the skin side effect. (don't touch my hormones, pharma!)
