Does exemestane work.

Hi . Has anyone been on exemestane please? If so has it shrunk your breast tumors at all? I have been on it nearly 2 months and I don't know if it is worth not as they are not shrinking. Before letrozole stopped working the tumors shrank a lot but nothing is happening with exemestane. I am worried it does not work for me and I am left once again with no protection against the cancer. Could you advise please friends as I am at my wits end.

Sorry but Exemestane on its own didn’t work for me. Usually, it is paired with Everolimus (Affinitor)

I can't offer experience with that drug but I know years ago we did 3 cycles of FEC and the beast tumor shrunk, then 3 cycles of Taxitare and the tumor grew back more aggressively. With hind sight (that's what I'm trying to offer you) we should have stopped chemo immediately. We were doing neo adjuvant chemotherapy and then surgery. This causes Metastasis reoccurrence 77% of the time. We should have stopped chemo, cleansed the body of the chemo (liver detox, enamas, raw foods diet) and then opted for cryogenic ablation of the lump. I hope my looking back at our mistakes helps you in some way. Go with your gut, I think it's telling you something already? Be brave, it's you and your body, your health, do what your gut tells you, it's rarely wrong. XX, ❤️

Thank you for your reply. Appreciate very much. I guess I had better realize what I feel already that there is going to be one treatment after until

there is no more. Living a nightmare. Want to be here for my family . Know there is only one way it will end.

Hey, come on, virtual hug!!X It only ends one way for us all. You have today, make the most of it. Read Rick Simpson s book, might be for you?

Thank you I needed that. Really frightened at moment. I cared for my husband for 3 years when he was diagnosed with multiple myeloma and I saw a tall strong ex royal marine go to a small yellow man. Now I have been diagnosed with 2 tumors in breast and 2 on clavicle and 2 in armpit and they are growing or progressing as oncologist says. Yes I'm scared stiff but it was good to get your comments and I will try to be more positive.

Hi

My mum was on exemestane and everolimus.

It worked for about 8 months , cancer out played the medicine and we had to look for another drug.

No great shakes as per our experience

Hi! I’ve been on Kadcyla which is Herceptin and the exemestane since December. It has kept me stable since then. I’ve had 2 follow up scans. Stability is also not a bad thing. As long as things are not progressing it’s a good thing. 😀

Just a spot on the lung.. being watched. Having been through endometrial cancer and breast cancer . As my Doctor wrote "Chronic conditions including cancer".. Medications seem to battle each other. Hopefully this one will be easier. And you?

There are so many variables, I would trust my doctor to find the best treatment for me and my cancer. Some things might take longer than others, but I would ask the doctor whether it's time to try something different.

I’ve been stable on exemestane alone for over 2 years. Miracles do happen. Hang in there friends. And pray. Prayer is powerful.

Minimal side effects. Achy joints in morning but that goes away once I start moving. My Mets are to my liver and peritoneal lining.

Did you do IV Chemo as well? Have you ever done Ibrance, Kisqali before?

Staceyness profile image
Staceyness in reply to kduck

Ibrance didn’t work for me. No IV chemo. Exemestane with affinitor was my second line of treatment. I got a liver infection so they took me off affinitor but kept me on exemestane untilIt cleared up. When it did get better they noticed that the exemestane had kept me stable and I’ve been that way ever since. Praise God🙏🏻🥰

Are you still teaching? How old are your children?

Staceyness profile image
Staceyness in reply to kduck

Sorry just saw this. Yes I just finished a year of full time teaching since my diagnosis in February, 2018. I taught part time for two years and felt that I wanted to see if I could do full time again. I didn’t like cancer ending my career so I did lots of praying and decided to give it a go. I needed to do it for myself. I’m super tired but all teachers are about now. For the first time in 3 years I also booked a vacation at Christmas. I thought I could never do that again but have decided to leave all the worry and fear with Jesus and to just live my life as if I didn’t have anything wrong. My kids are 19 and 23 and the loves of my life❤️🙏🏻🥰🕊We can do hard things💪 Sending hugs to you.
