Finally!

I did it! I traveled outside the US to the Dominican Republic. It was fabulous! I was nervous at first but once there everything just seemed back to normal. I am thankful I was able to go and enjoy this time with my husband. It was much needed.

In case any of you plan to do some traveling this summer I highly recommend the Secrets Cap Cana Resort and Spa in Punta Cana. They were so nice and catered to our every need.

The picture is the view from our balcony. I know I love seeing all the places you all post. So here’s one from the Caribbean.

PS. Atlanta Hartsfield airport was as busy as ever!!

Had to have a COVID test to return to the US.

So happy for you ! We love the Dominican Republic but I have been to nervous to travel out of the country. Secrets looks amazing ! You boosted my confidence ! We may have to go !Just wondering -- how was customs?? that has been my biggest concern.

We had to show our passport leaving the DR about 10 times. We went through some gates where they made us scan our fingers and then a temperature scan before the other gate would open. We also had to have a COVID test at the resort 2 days before returning with the results on our phone and a paper copy. We showed it when leaving the DR but not in Atlanta. We had a direct flight. I know there were at least 300 people in line in Atlanta at customs. It was about like normal actually. So glad I went ahead and did it.

Stacy !!! I loved your post as my hubby and I went to the DR 2 years ago before the pandemic and stayed at the exact same resort in Punta Cana. Best time I had in a long time !!! Thanks for the picture and reminding me of the Zen of the Carribean. Blessings !

Exactly girl ! My only complaint is that taxi or drivers that bring you from the airport to Punta Cana - our resort are basically CRAY CRAY crazy. Seriously. Get picked up from the airport and .... holy moly ! My husband and I came up with a quote "Observing traffic rules is an OPTION". We were weaving in and out of incoming traffic. I was white knuckled in a mini van. Fun stuff as from the time you leave the DR air port there is a good one hour or so drive to the resort. I lost 5 pounds on the ride !!! xoxo.
