Dr. Shallenberger speaking on Melatonin vs. Cancer

UPDATE: after doing a search for Dr. Shallenberger, I saw where he lost his license in California (ty Pboup) and then started up in Nevada as an anti-aging type clinic, with his own line of supplements, etc., melatonin not among them. He is not hard to find and has several videos on that web site. What is troubling is ... He doesn't mention melatonin at all and if it's indeed such a wonder supplement, I find that troubling. That's as far as I've gotten as it was disheartening and his website no longer carries his video from 2018 which I posted here, BUT they haven't pulled it from youtube which I think they could've done, but I'm not sure how all that works. Anyone know? If you post a video to youtube and someone copies the link, can they watch it forever or would it come up "No Longer Available" if you pulled it? I think I've seen that before but not sure as I have slept since then LOL. God's richest blessings to you all and I'm bummed out, I was so excited again about the melatonin thing!

I've watched this so many times but there is so much info here that everytime I watch it I glean MORE and MORE info! Outstanding video! God bless you all and heal us in Jesus name, amen! PS. I've been taking melatonin kind of hit and miss for I want to say about 4 years but today, after listening AGAIN, I'm going to up my intake with alot of expectancy for great results! youtube.com/watch?v=Roh4lQX... PSS I'm researching scientifichealthsolutions. com as a supplier of melatonin (made in the USA) because I just found out that pure bulk get's theirs from CHINA, which is a big turn-off for me. Best I can tell and the companies I've reached out to have told me that it ALL comes from China, but is processed by some here and tested. I don't know what I'm going to do about that ... I'm NOW between a rock and a hard place and I have to LAUGH, doesn't help to cry about it. Hope someone has enjoyed my struggle to gather info. Be blessed and Jesus loves you! THAT is the GOOD NEWS! <3 This is what I rec'd by email from one company. Come to think of it, alot of our prescription meds and ingredients still come from china so I need to get over it because probably half the stuff I'm taking comes from there. I read my ibrance is manufactured in Ireland btw. Thought I'd throw that in there for free. anyway, here is the reply I rec'd from one company, if anyone is interested.

"First, I would like to inform you that all melatonin companies across the market do source their melatonin from China. However, our crude melatonin gets processed in the U.S. through MTC Industries which has two locations one in in NY and the other in CA. Before it gets sent to us, any of the chemicals used during processing are dried and evaporated so what we receive is pure melatonin powder. Once it arrives to us, we internally test it as well as send it out for third-party testing before using or packing it into any of our products".

I think I will go with these guys, scientifichealthsolutions. com as they seem to test the product thoroughly before sending out; everyone nowadays is wary of anything produced in China. Hopefully, this is the final edit Bwah ha ha

Thanks for this. I have heard a lot about the benefits of Melatonin. And reputable sites like MSK and others concur that it might have anti-cancer benefits, although nothing is confirmed. I take 20mg a night because that is what my nutritionist recommended as a standard "therapeutic dose".

That said I googled the Doctor above and he seems sketchy so please be careful. His medical license was revoked in California and he has several malpractice suits.

I would only start a very high dose regimen like he suggests under the supervision of a bona fide doctor... and with your Oncologist's knowledge. I wonder, for example, if the anti-estrogen effects of Melatonin impact the effectiveness of other drugs we take such as AI drugs or SERDs. Or (and I am making this up but it feels logical) if it could even cause our cancer to be less estrogen driven, hastening our resistance to good SOC drugs like Faslodex.

These are questions I would dig into with a professional before embarking on anything super high dose.

hi. I have to admit that I skimmed through and listened to parts along the way. I realized right away that I heard this already a couple years ago. I have to admit I am skeptical. not that melatonin isn't helpful. but his speech talks a lot about the physiology and I would like to see more on studies done and statistics etc. it is interesting. thank you for sharing.

Did anyone look up all the studies by Russel Ryder (guessing at the name); Shallenberger said they could be found at PubMed which I am going to see if I can find anything. WOW! I didn't know he lost his license! I posted this 3 years ago, and I was impressed with him then. I will do more digging, thanks for the input!

Every supplement company, to comply with the FDA, should be testing the individual ingredients when received and finished product of each production run.

Sounds like he included a whole protocol in his clinic. Don't know how just doing melatonin helps I'm going to do more research. So interesting.

see above "update"; I think I'm still going to try it, a few ct's, bonescans and CA tests will tell the tale as the proof is always in the pudding, right?

I'm dropping the fen ben for a while and upping the melatonin ... I'm diabetic so the glucose uptake thing should be pretty evident immediately if it's in fact true.

Thank you for the info. FDA doesn’t monitor supplements, however there is a very rigorous process to monitor manufacture of the prescription drugs. So, the facility in Ireland that manufactures Ibrance underwent FDA inspection and likely local inspections.

Hope that’ll give you some peace of mind.

My Onc has ok'd most every supplement I have asked about but not high dose Melatonin, her hesitation is that it is a hormone. She does believe that up to 20mg as a sleep aid is OK, but to slowly build up to this dose. So I will remain on the fence for now.
