Just received my appointment for my first Covid vaccine on my off week from Ibrance and it’s going to be the Merderna has anyone heard anything regarding the difference between Pfizer and Merderna when you’re on Ibrance ?? thank you

I had the Moderna vaccine number one a couple weeks ago. It was not on my off week. All I experienced was a slightly sore arm where I was injected. Going for my second one next Friday, again not on my off week. Hoping I don’t have anything more severe than a sore arm this time too. I know lots of people who have received both shots and are not on Ibrance like we are Some had no side effects at all and others experienced chills and fever. I don’t think taking Ibrance is a determining factor for side effects. I keep telling myself that even if I do get ill from it, that it will only last a couple days and is better than getting Covid while being on something that destroys the immune system

I just got my 2nd Moderna shot and to my surprise I have no side effects. The first shot was at the end of my off week and I had a sore arm for a few days. The 2nd was on day 19 of my Ibrance cycle and I was expecting to get all the effects but - nothing! Fingers crossed that it worked and my struggling WBC’s were able to take it onboard and develop the antibodies. I will continue to take precautions as Covid is still rampant in the US. Good luck!

Do they know of it works in people like us with neutrophils down etc?

My doctors (who are at a leading US cancer hospital) keep saying there isn’t enough research yet to understand how immunosuppressed people respond to the vaccine, in terms of antibody production. But they’re confident that it’s worth getting - my assumption is that even if I don’t have as strong of an antibody response compared to normal people, partial protection is better than no protection! — and specifically reduces the chances of Covid hospitalization and death to near zero. I must say that it’s a relief being vaccinated — dealing with two life-threatening situations seemed a bit much; one feels a lot more manageable! 😀😬💉🙏🏼

My oncologist said to try and get it on my off week from Ibrance. She said some protection is better than none.

I am on Ibrance and also had both doses of Moderna vaccine. Both were on the first day of my week off, which was just a coincidence. Each time I had a very sore arm. With the second shot, I also had a low-grade fever and was a bit achy and under the weather. I took one Tylenol that evening and by the next day I was fine. My doctor said she wanted me to get the vaccine so I did. She never told me it needed to be on my week off, but she seemed happy that it was. Just the luck of the draw!

I have had both shots of Pfizer. My doc said it was not necessary to take it on your week off. Just take it. The only side effect I had with both was a slightly sore arm and I was very tired (more than usual) the day after. Then, on day 2, back to normal. Good luck. I was surprised at how emotional I felt when I got the 2nd. A real sense of hope!

Thank you, had my first shot on the 14th, and just had a very sore arm. Yes I felt relieved as well!
