Hi Helena I hated Xeloda and was very sick on it

I had Afinitor prior to Xeloda and found it very easy compared to Xeloda...very few side effects...it stopped working unfortunately

Hi Barb

Hope all ok with you. I’m been thinking about you.

I’ve had 4 chicks hatch today in an incubator 🐣🐣🐣🐣

I’m doing ok on Xeloda & I’ve got a CT scan tomorrow 🤞

I had an awful time on Xeloda: crushing fatigue, liver pain and hand and foot syndrome. These set in a month after the start. Two months later we discovered Xeloda wasn’t even working (progression of disease) and so I started Afinator (also known as Everolimus) along with Exemestane. No serious side effects yet and I am near the end of cycle three. I am fatigued but that is most likely due to radiotherapy to the eye three week ago.

Hope this helps!

Afinitor was difficult for me...I lost my appetite and a lot of weight...my doctor prescribed Remeron which helped with appetite and sleep, and then switched me to Xeloda, which is working well for me....BUT I have heard others say that they find Afinitor easier on them than Xeloda....so I hope you’re one of them!!!! We’re all so different in our response to these meds....best of luck!!!

I love affinities for some reason it takes away my pain. I thought I was crazy until a mess up with insurance, I was off of it for week and my went through the roof, not sure why. I take with exemestane. Started with a study but was missing too much work so my Onc decided to just keep me on it. Have been taking it since October 2020

Hi I was on xeloda and it started to be less effective and am now on Afinitor. In both cases I have had to have doses adjusted as I appear to be very sensitive (re side effects) to drugs. Once dosage adjusted I was great on xeloda and doing OK on Afinitor.

I have taken Xeloda for at least 9 months. One week on and two weeks off. Took a 5 week break last month. I don’t have any bad side effects. My cancer numbers are down, so I am happy. What side effects do you have? Reenie
