Hair color roots???
I have continued to have my blonde foil highlights during my three years on Ibrance , tho’ probably less frequently during the pandemic ( we are in a national lockdown here in the U.K. and hairdressers are all closed for the foreseeable future ...so expecting roots soon ! ). Take care! x
I've been in treatment for 3 yrs for stage 4 metastatic breast cancer and have gotten my roots done monthly with no issues. Good luck to you check with your oncologist but I seriously doubt there will be a problem.
Never stopped hair color...oncologist green-lighted it. When salon was closed for in salon color, I picked up and did myself.
I was recommended to use a water based/natural hair dye with no active bleaching agents. I have had my hair dyed black since I was in my early 20s so was a little suspicious that would work but it does. Also my hair is sadly thinning as well so I am even more concerned about chemicals and shampoos. So I think it’s maybe also about the overall health of your hair before you dye. And let me know if you have any good recommendations for shampoos and conditioners - I have gone through so many and remain a little unconvinced about all of them so far!
Goodmorning JKMS and to everyone,
I gave up colouring my hair 2 years ago and enjoying very much my grey hair I recently started using baby shampoo, my hair has been very itchy and my scalp was hurting, so I looked it up on the internet and suggested to use Mustela, i bought it from Cyprus from chemist € 8 00 abit expensive, hope worth it. you can use it for your whole body. Hope i helped, take care
I gave up hair colour when I started ibrance just in case of hair problems. Now everyone asks where I get my hair coloured! So I've saved money and everyone thinks it looks good.
I coloured my hair till the summer until it got so thin I buzzed it and wear a wig.
Always had my hair done for first 4 1/2 years...recently had WBRT so I have no hair to worry about...but most likely will continue if it comes in all grey....never know but definitely not against dying it...😀
I continued to colour my hair while taking Ibrance , my hair texture changed to a very strange frizzy , kinky thinning at times but always took the colour well .
I still get my hair foiled every six months. 💗💗
i have continued to color my hair since the initial dx in 2011; mets dx 2015. i use organic, plant based products, NOT Henna, especially for the roots. i even bring my own color to the hair stylist, some times.
I was told by my hairdresser recently that hair after chemo is difficult to hold color, but she tried highlighting on mine and it took!!! So glad! Will be doing a little heavier soon!
When I was diagnosed with bc, losing my hair was one of the very first thoughts I had! Turned out the cancer had already metastasized to my bones, and I've not had any of the meds that make us bald, but in the 16 + years since then, my hair has changed alot! First, thicker and curlier, of all things! Who could have guesses....... but while the hair on my head has been thicker, thinner, curlier, straighter, it has not fallen out. But I no longer need to shave my legs or arm pits. There are a few chin hairs that will grow rather long if I don't spot them and pluck them, and the hair on my upper lip seems to be thicker. Until about a year ago, I've had my hair dyed quite regularly, sometimes at the salon and sometimes myself. I also discovered some small spray bottles of color among other hair dyes at the grocery store and found that those do a good job of hiding roots for a day or two. My natural hair color has been a mousy brown since I was a kid and my hair stylist has been trying to persuade me to allow it to go back to its natural color. I finally have and the gray is more than one shade and it is much prettier than I would have guessed! Feeling pretty has sure been important to me the last several years and helps me cope with living with this stupid blasted cancer! Oh, I have very few eye lashes left now, too! The ophthalmologist who removed my cataracts last month gave me a prescription for Latisse (I think that's how it is spelled) and said that if I take it to regrow eye lashes, I will have to keep taking it or the lashes will thin out again. I haven't decided which way to go with it. I don't need to wear glasses anymore so my eyes aren't so "hidden". Any experience here with this or any other way to regrow eye lashes?
I’ve only used water based colour once in a year. It lasted a while though. Good luck in finding an answer
