I recently read an article where it said most women get breast cancer in their left breast (I didn't even know cancer favored one breast more than the other.) Mine though is in my right breast. Just curious how many have it in their left breast as opposed to the right one.

Well, after reading the responses, I now learned not to pay to much attention to articles such as the one I read but apparently it is more of a 50/50. It also said on average women get breast cancer at the age of 57. I was diagnosed at age 57. Average Annie, that is me.

I agree that statistics are irrelevant. People can tweak them and do all sorts of things with them, so they are not always a reliable indication of how long treatment will work, prognosis and so on. I was diagnosed at the age of 39, but may have had breast cancer all through my 30s for all I know. So I don't fit into when the "average" woman tends to develop breast cancer either. But what I do plan to do is beat the odds!

Mine was left breast at age 48 I'm going to be 62 in March. I may have had it before that age but I didn't get mammograms . So 48 is when I could feel and see the lump.
