I haven't anything for a while ladies, decided to check in. I have a full plate with working, family stuff, trying to sell dad's house, my health. Cancer markers were about 190 in December, that was a concern since that is the highest it has been. Doc got concerned. Since trying Xeloda and from prayers, marker went to 45. Last cancer marker was 50. I have the hand/foot symptom, get tired. Lately Iv'e had heartburn, with some brief pain in the stomach area. I am trying meds for the heartburn. I have struggled lately with being anxious, need to give my worries to God. I enjoy your posts, hang in there ladies. May we all continue to be stable. Hugs to you all.

Hi Susie,

It sounds like you have had a lot on your plate lately, so no wonder you are feeling anxious. Can you get some help with your family concerns that you have? You need to make sure you are taking care of your health, as well as your other obligations, and getting plenty of rest. I hope the heartburn soon goes away. If it doesn't, I would mention it to your doctor.

Take care,

Sophie

Hi Susie,

Hugs right back "atcha"! :)

Thank you for updating us, and I'm sorry that you're "in the weeds" right now while also dealing with side effects, etc!

It sounds like you're juggling some major things, which is challenging, I'm sure...At least dealing with the house sale is temporary? Hopefully things will feel less stressful once that one's done...

...But that's good news is re: your tumor markers! Wishing you a good long run on the Xeloda!

Take care,

Lynn

Nice to hear from you, especially since you have so much else going on. Sending the hugs and good thoughts right back to you.

Take good care of yourself. You can only juggle everything for so long. Sounds like you are getting your rest. These meds we are on do require lots of rest periods.

All the best,

Cheers, June S.

Good to hear from you. Prayers that your world calms down soon and that you can just put your feet up and rest at least long enough to catch your breath. Best wishes. Blessings Hannah

Blessings to you and keep breathing, deeply! Anxiety is tricky- it could also be contributing to the heartburn.

Praying for your welbeing.

I was on xeloda for a year and a half. Never had the hand foot syndrome but struggled with bloating and stomach pain a lot. Diarrhoea too. After a year and a half once the cancer stabilized I was put on ibrance and letrozole and have been doing well since.

Greetings: Shalom sister/warrior :) . What you can't handle you must give it to our LORD/GOD. Remember we can't do GOD'S job. There is nothing too big for our Father/GOD to handle :) . God created this entire universe. I sometimes have to remind myself to recite the Serenity Prayer when I am facing a solution to a problem. It is then that I realized GOD will continue to cover, and protect me, as long as I do my part :) .

Thank you

Susie — that’s a lot to manage, and you didn’t even mention the aspect of figuring out how to safely cover daily life in the middle of covid. I think many of us under appreciate how that infiltrates our consciousness and adds to our anxiety. I miss hugging friends, dinner at a nice place and movies. I’ve found other outlets but those activities are sorely missed.

I’m sure you’ve heard many of us talk about how we manage our anxiety. I like a few free guided meditation apps I found online. I can be a “shallow breather.” Taking 5-10 minutes to do deep breaths helps some times. Perhaps it might help you?

Good luck.

May I ask how Xeloda is and if you have any side effects. I have stage iv with mets to lungs and now bottom of spine. I was on Ibrance for three months and then Verzenio. I had major problems with Ibrance and even with the Verzenio, I could NOT do the higher doses so am on lowest dose 50 mgs. twice per day. Now that they found something on my right lobe of lung, my onco said a new treatment plan. I was on Verzenio for about 13 months and I read on average it works for 16 months. I am upset that I finally got myself into a place where I am used to the Verzenio and can deal with it. So a bit depressed (although since they have nothing to compare it to my onco wants me to have another CT scan in early November (thus a CT scan two months after). They they have nothing to compare it to bc it just showed up last week at my CT scan, my onco wants me to have one of my throat before I meet with her in November so that they have something to compare I guess to see if it grows quickly or changes or what.

But she did state that my treatment plan will change and not to worry, she will help me with the side effects (that statement bothered me). I am PR+ and Her2a-. So I was curious to know what the third line of treatment usually is. I have seen the name of that drug before and wondering how you feel on it and what line of treatment it is. I just don't want a drug that has so many side effects that I need more meds to combat the side effects.

Any information you are willing to provide would be apreciated.
